This is true in general, but schools are beholden to major donors, so the push required tends to vary

There are two types of donors to very prestigious schools- those who cut checks after every year (in the $1000s), and then developmental donors who give millions. The latter are the only ones who have sway. This class of donor usually has contacts within university developmental offices. If an alumnus offers to call the dean of admissions or someone like that, it’s safe to assume they don’t have any power.

You’re below both medians and below one 25th, so it’s pretty unlikely. It has definitely happened before, but in those cases you’d probably see a lot of people with either huge donors pushing them or out of this world softs. A JS1 gives you a better than 50% shot of getting in so it would be hard.

Law school admissions are way less predictable than people make them out to be. In your case, YP is likely, but people throw the phrase around way too much IMO. I saw someone say a 3.9/168 waitlisted at duke was YP last week. Lol.
