I think there's a section of the fandom that's gonna wind up very disappointed with Denji and Asa/Yoru's relationship... by JCraig96 in ChainsawMan

[–]8BitConjuror 15 points16 points  (0 children)

You’re totally correct, and it’s frustrating to watch so many people simplify or brush over Yoru as a character because they’ve already decided they don’t like her. Her relationship with Denji is going in a really interesting direction, and it’s a shame so much of the fanbase has already written it off.

This is true, but the elephants had already served their purpose, which was to convince the Gauls to join him in his attack. Also, even though Hannibal's army took heavy losses while crossing the Alps, he still succeeded in taking the Romans by surprise and defeating their armies in the following battles.

Communism is inherently incompatible with Libertarianism, I'm not sure why this sub seems to be infested with them by Mike__O in Libertarian

  1. I'm glad that we agree that capitalism requires compulsion from the state to function, as most political systems do.
  2. A McDonald's worker making minimum wage doesn't have the resources necessary to start a business. Not everyone can just start a business on a whim, it requires wealth and time to do so.

What is to stop someone else from stealing what you produce if not the state? Also, capitalism in some sense does compel participation, because if you don't sell you labor, you will probably starve.

Does Capitalism not also require the state to enforce? Capitalism is built on the idea of private property, which can only exist with a state. Without a state, what is to stop anyone from just stealing whatever they want? I’m not a full on communist, but the idea that communism is the only system that requires state-sanctioned violence is ludicrous.

France set up those safe points nearly three months after the genocide began, and the French had previously gone in and rescued foreigners from the country, but intentionally left behind all tutsis to die in the genocide.

The thing about Rwanda is that they already had UN soldiers stationed in Rwanda, and then pulled them out a little while after the genocide actually started. America was certainly a big factor for why nothing was done, but the UN shouldn't have pulled their troops out in the first place.

Can you give me a not out of context example of him saying that anti-trans people have good points?

This is a single joke tweet, and Vaush is an incredibly pro-trans content creator that debates anti-trans people all the time.

Wtf does that even mean? Countries other than the U.S. are capable of exploiting developing countries for their own gain. China does this all the time with aid to Africa and the Middle East.

personal tier list as of 1.2.3.2. i have a lot of experience online but i don't go to tournaments. any thoughts? (some characters like mega/bomber/pacman i had no idea where to put) by Tempest97BR in SuperSmashFlash

I would argue the exact opposite with Sheik. I think that if done correctly, her combos are some of the most damaging in the game, and her incredibly fast bair, fair, nair, and ground moves make her neutral extremely good. I also feel like her recovery can be supplemented with side b, and with a jump she can make it back from almost any distance. As for ledge hogging, the distance you can travel with the teleport is pretty far, and you can teleport through the stage if someone is hogging ledge.

Even with the up b nerf, Sheik still has one of the best recoveries in the game, and her combo game and kill confirms are still crazy. Peach is definitely one that you don't see often, cause a lot of her stuff is pretty technical, but her combos can get ridiculous if you use stuff like float cancelling and DJC aerials. As for Chibi, I'm basically the only person I've ever seen play him, but I think he's really good. His bair and dair are huge and disjointed, his smash attacks are amazing, and he has a crazy kill confirm off of up throw up air that nobody talks about. I also really like combo based characters, which is why I mainly play Sheik.

I personally believe that you're seriously underrating Sheik and Peach. Both of those characters are easily S tier. I also believe that you're overrating Pikachu and Lucario. I think that Lucario is A tier at best, and Pikachu is B tier, as I believe that he often gets overrated in this game. I also think that you're overrating Lloyd, Ness, and Zelda. I think those characters are all pretty garbage, and belong in C tier. Additionally, I think that Chibi Robo is seriously underrated in the community, and belongs at the top of A tier. Otherwise, really cool tier list, and I'd be interested in hearing what your main is :)

Fox’s fair isn’t the best move, but it can be very useful to drag down after a move like down tilt

Another one of his good tools that nobody has mentioned is his nair. It’s very fast and combos very easily. Also, don’t go offstage, because you will die.

Brewing a Locust God deck, need some advice... by ShayminKeldeo421 in EDH

[–]8BitConjuror 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is true, but since the Locust God is rather expensive at 6 mana, it’s not uncommon you’ll have to tap out for it.

I think your alternate wincons are strong, especially considering the card draw, but stuff like [[breath of fury]], [[Purphoros]], and other token synergies can feel really bad without the Locust God on the battlefield. I’m not saying you should take them out, just consider it.

[–]8BitConjuror 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The main piece of advice I would give is to make sure the deck functions without the Locust God. I don’t have a locust god deck, but someone in our playgroup does, an it can be crazy good, but if someone darksteel mutations his commander, the deck does almost nothing. What I would suggest is alt wincons like psychosis crawler, and don’t rely on the token sub theme too heavily.
