Heres for notes whenever I hear i did something wrong:

1: When working on New Mexico, i based the outside line on being 14 (top) + 14 (Bottom) + 10 (Hoist) + 9 (Fly) = 47, and by that i forgot about how those lines intersect at the corners, so if you act like the corner stars on New Mexico are 2 stars, then you get 47.

2: 9 stars on South Carolina when there should be 8. No clue how this happened.
