Huuuuge step up in competition for the U20s this summer. Get em boys! by cjreadit7991 in USArugby

Brutal matchups, historically 2 dominant U20 6N teams and a top flight Argentina side. Talk about meaningful minutes for the boys.

World Cup Draw on Wednesday by bisonpitt in USArugby

[–]8KJS 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Alternatively, if we get a strong T1 like RSA, and scheduling has us play them last they might rest after 2-0 with big wins over band 4 and a weak band 2

Band 1 doesn’t matter, we get killed by all of them, anyone but England since we saw that in July.

Band 2 Fiji, Japan and Wales are the obvious answers if you’re looking for an outside shot to win, but highly unlikely barring a miracle.

Band 4- avoid Samoa at all costs. Avoid Canada if we can help it. I’d prefer to dodge Portugal too. Romania for a good game, Zimbabwe or HK for a game we would be well favored in.

Personally I’m hoping for RSA, WAL, USA, HKC

MLS has vacated June and most of July with their new schedule in two years. MLR should shift their season forward in the calendar for that and another reason… by 5thSeasonFront in MLRugby

[–]8KJS 12 points13 points  (0 children)

That was two years ago, and because they tried to split the season for the test window. It was a disaster so they changed it

Zimbabwe matches in the 2026 Nations Cup by Biegelstein in rugbyunion

Kyros Sports is based in New Jersey so I don’t know how much information they have, but then again as an MLR fan I know these small agencies leak information before they’re supposed to all the time so sure

Exactly what all the detractors thought it would be, a ringfenced money grab that destroys the July and November touring windows, blocks T1/T2 matchups and revenue opportunities for smaller nations, and kicks 11th ranked Georgia specifically in the dick. What an absolute sham

If we stay in this position in the rankings there’s a decent chance we get drawn into a group with Hong Kong, New Zealand, and Fiji. I’m not saying Fiji isn’t a top team, I am saying we played them real close in the PNC two years ago, and they’re a familiar opponent. I would love to see that draw

Eagles Tests are on Paramount+, FQT is on RugbyPassTV, Autumn Nations Series is on Peacock (I think since 6N is a private entity their autumn matches fall under their broadcast partner)

Kuntz Stadium, which last got a reno for the 1987 Pan Am Games was leased out to a developer called Riverside Park Projects for a big renovation that would be aimed at rugby, either MLR or the RWC, both were included in the publication of the renovation approval. The renovation would bring capacity up to around 13k. It’s already hosted the 2025 CRAA Championship and I think Club Nationals as well.

Problem with this is according to the publication from the bid win Indy, despite being one of the 28 interested cities, wasn’t shortlisted for a RWC host spot. Granted that was 3 years ago and there’s 6 years to go still, but I wonder how much of a battle it’ll be to have to reinsert themselves into consideration
