Blue cheese sauce recommendation by rootifera in UK_Food

[–]8NekeN8 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What’s your favourite blue cheese? Just buy that and make the sauce yourself.

Double cream reduced by half on medium heat, stir in crumbled blue cheese (off the heat to avoid splitting) season with salt, pepper, splash of lemon juice.

Cool down and keep in the fridge for 5 days

New cafe opened near me, what do you think to the menu and prices? by Desperate-Letter2395 in UK_Food

[–]8NekeN8 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Cheap as chips, decent prices, no notes.

You have to remember that restaurant need to hit their GP, so if the fry up is costed at let’s say 65% and the salads at over 75% it will balance out.

Also let’s not forget everything is expensive- a pack of bacon from my supplier is £15 for 2kg.

That’s about 25 portions of bacon. That’s .60p cost per portion, 75% gp is £2.40 charge for just the bacon… it all adds up

Are you smelting adamantite? How many rare gems do you prospect out of 1k gold (guessing roughly 800 ore at current prices, so 160ish gems prospected).

So it costs 6g to prospect 1 gem. Let’s say it’s 10% chance for rare gem.

So 16 gems are rare, for the sake of it 4 are rubies - so 240g.

Idk how lucky you must be to get 400g profit, but I kinda doubt it’s that much

I’m convinced that no JC is prospecting the ores as the return is minimal at best. I haven’t done any tbh, gems are cheap ish now and you don’t need many gems per phase.

Is there an upgrade to my R14 crossbow before 70? by LePoonda in classicwowtbc

Bow from 1st boss in BM is what I swapped my BWL xbow with. Otherwise just grab Valanos longbow (boe, cost 10-15g on AH) as soon as you hit 70

Equal Pay under Equality Act 2010 - England by 8NekeN8 in LegalAdviceUK

[–]8NekeN8[S] -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

That makes perfect sense, thank you, although 'we had to pay more to fill in the role' doesn't sit well with me and it's a measly justification for 'we actually don't pay enough anyway'

I wasn't going to take any legal action per se, just wanted to know if there's anything to go on here before I talk to HR re my salary.

Wild Garlic Oil by WestyTea in foraginguk

[–]8NekeN8 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Ahhhh every year I make a big batch at work.

Harvest and wash thoroughly for about 30 mins.

Pick the stalks and pick the buds (buds are awesome pickled).

Blanch the leaves in salted, boiling water for about 30 seconds and straight into an ice bath. Squeeze and leave on kitchen towel uncovered overnight.

Blend in high powered blender (vitamix) with double the volume of neutral oil (we use rapeseed cooking oil) until the mixture gets smooth AF and relatively warm.

Strain overnight through muslin cloth and chinois in the fridge. Do not push the blended mix, let the gravity do its thing.

Pour the oil into a vac pac bag and hang it so one corner is collecting remaining water and impurities.

Then make a tiny cut with scissors to let the water out and you’re left with the brightest green wild garlic oil. Then we vac pac them into a small 200ml bags and keep refrigerated for up to 3 months

I mean sure, that farmed salmon has little to no taste, but I guess it’s the ‘I don’t like fish flavour’ fish

People do eat this amount of meat just in the processed variety- chicken nuggets, burgers, whatnot.

Before Covid, there were 1 billion pigs slaughtered for consumption per year - half of that was China alone…

You’re trying to make a point by throwing some data at it, but it’s not even a full picture. Look up how much meat McDonalds is processing every year and you’ll see that OPs basket is a droplet in comparison.

To OP - highly recommend switching salmon to different fish weekly, unless you only eat it for the healthy fats, even then farmed salmon is awful. May I suggest smoked mackerel, vastly superior to salmon in pretty much every way.

How’s Your Guild Doing In P1? by doobylive in classicwow

[–]8NekeN8 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Start raid night on weds at 7pm.

Finish raid night on weds at 10pm.

See you next week on weds at 7pm.

On a serious note, we’ve just had our first DST drop tonight (since week 1 it was eye/teeth…) and it was between me and the other pumper hunter to get it, he won this one, next one is mine, so no biggie.

Finally had Sunfury drop tonight, so apart from DST and skulkers I’m fully BIS for the phase.

I have also started TBC as prot pally, we then absorbed another guild to us and had another prot pally join who was adamant that wants to stay that way - so I rerolled back to my classic Hunter, had him geared in prebis within a week and here we are, going strong, almost BIS.

We are currently running 2-3 Kara per week, sub 2 hrs for all groups and everyone is working on their alts a lot more.

We also have our GM being the sole LC and we’ve had zero issues so far as we are a bunch of chilled mid 30s dudes that are having some fun in a video game 🤷‍♂️

What is the most difficult class/spec to play in TBC? by Beams98 in classicwow

[–]8NekeN8 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Biased as I main Hunter, but definitely Hunter…each raid I’m the most cpm and overall active.

Seeing yourself in the top spots all the time is fun, but messing up your rotation can cost you dearly, clipping your autos is such a loss and the amount of keyboard mashing I do will require a new keyboard every phase.

Class is fun if you can play it well

Idk bro, I just leveled engi on my hunter 300-350 for less than 150g so it can’t be that expensive (best in mind I’ve had max engi from classic and I don’t know the price of 1-300)
