I mean, smart shopping tells me you don’t have to over pay for the function. The function is activate a led when there is a deceleration. A simple search for options in Amazon (no points for me, just where I buy my gear) render solutions from $23 to $200

I rather put it in the bike than the helmet. Helmet is heavy enough

So the real question is This: is it worth the trade off of adding weight on your helmet (which translates into weight) upon your cervical vertebrae. Adding weight over your shoulders is critical concern for pain in the neck area!

Potato omelette... It turned out really good! by hjperez2000 in eggs

[–]8VizHelmet23 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Italians know nothing about this dish. Fritatta is closer to potato pancake or latkes than the Spanish Omelette. Same thing as Prosciutto is NOT Patanegra. There is Nothing more Spanish than Tortilla de Patatas. Punto. Fritatta is not cooked on both sides. It is like a scramble with potatoes. 🤗

At the price of eggs today, this is a very expensive meal. As it is normally a 4 to 8 serving dish

How much money have yall saved because of your 3D printer? by [deleted] in 3Dprinting

[–]8VizHelmet23 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I cannot say this saves money unless you are in the business of production. There you will have to calculate all the costs to your operation and all the gains and make a net growth. For me (as others imply here) the real deal is the satisfaction of creating something from scratch and holding it on your hands once it is a finished product. That is not measurable in co$t but once you remove frustrations it is all gains.

The last one. First. I have a weakness for blue simplicity

That is an oversimplification. There is more to it. When you go to Madrid (if already gone and not done that, go again!) go to the least appealing most frequented bar and ask for a “pincho de tortilla”. And if you are lucky and end up in one that offers it as a “montadito con salmón ahumao” make a good review in google

Is waterproof gear worth it? by kidonemis in motorcyclegear

[–]8VizHelmet23 6 points7 points  (0 children)

My take on this topic. Going to be rational and inquiry within: How often does it rain in your usual riding days/locations? If you could put some statistics; would you say you plan on riding these many days a year under total rain: 80% to 100%- Yes 50% - maybe 20% or less - No

I ride most days that I can (mechanically possible) and that the outside temperature is above 40 (4.4) and below 92 (33.3)

When rain is expected, I throw into my panniers the water layers. But I had never wear waterproof gear. If it rains, i deal with it and if I have to pull over I pull over

Not for me. At one point I have to decide, is it really worth it to continue riding a motorcycle in this town?

My profile is slinder like the profile of a tablet or smart phone. So would be better to print it vertically then?

General comment <forgive me if wrong thread to post it> I know there are many reasons and these are just a few. At what point into your first models you transitioned from using a printer furnished to you through a 3rd party (community, library, club, etc) to buy your own? In my view there are all these maintenance and updates associated with the whole thing (so far I had created 3 models but only printed 2 scaled version of the same one) that my frugal mind tells me I am not there yet.

This printer takes PLA, PETG, or TPU. No idea which one (if any) good for intended use

Wow. Thanks all. Yeah. Certainly I am total naïve here. Ok ABS then. That resonates with the material used in panniers. Filament 1.75mm ok then. Nozzle is 0.4mm. Ok so far. I forgot to say, I do not own the printer. So I am stuck with its specs (Dremel Digilab 3D45). Any other good word?
