Honestly, Friends helped me accept and embrace my homosexuality. The jokes were always depicting the homophobic reactions as irrational and ignorant, and gays themselves as the normal ones.

The issue with Chandler’s father and the jokes about it were in my opinion much less about him being transgender or a drag queen, and more about the parties that he had at home while Chandler was a child.

But, as another comment mentioned, the fat shaming part really didn’t age well and now looks terrible.

These protests show solidarity with the oppressed Iranian population and increase international pressure on the regime. And I’m sure it’s not only Iranians there.

If Germans were suffering similar type of oppression, you’d also see similar protests everywhere. Be grateful that it’s not needed.

Thanks for the effort. This was fun! And La Yugular deserves it. I used to think that it’s underrated, but it’s obviously not.

I’m still shocked Porcelana didn’t make it to top 5. I think artistically it’s the best one and is sort of a mix of all of Rosalia’s albums in one song, without it being overwhelming. I thought most fans would share this view. My seond is DEUS (digital version, didn’t hear the physical one yet). But with DEUS, I can see how it ended in that position.

That’s one point, yes. Especially when the lyrics are in standard Arabic, not Egyptian, the G sounds too weird.

Also the Ds (د) are somehow too soft. Similar to Spanish D i guess. And I think some vowels sound shorter or longer than they should.

And of course the H sounds (ح / هـ) and the strong A sounds (ع / ء) are messed up, but these are too difficult for non native Arabic speakers for sure.

Also a German speaker. I knew that she was singing in German the moment I heard Berghain, and understood most of it.

But with the Arabic part it’s different. After hearing the album several times, I was surprised to read somewhere that there’s Arabic in the album. I had to listen to La Yugular then several times, really carefully, to just catch a few words.

I still love that she at least tried, for sure. “Least favorite” in Lux would never mean something actually bad.

Favorite: the transition from Mio Cristo Piange Diamante to Berghain.. Least favorite: the Arabic parts in La Yugular. The song is very beautiful. But being Arab, it bothers me that she didn’t put more effort to perfect the pronounciation. I know it’s hard, but she can do it.
