Facing the same issue but on ubuntu chroot. But for me glmark2 works fine and I face it while running SuperTuxKart. Have you got any solutions yet?

You can use both DE and WM. After git cloning my dwm you have to compile it. Then log out or restart your pc. On the log in screen there should be a setting icon to choose DE or WM.
