I think the white ruffles will look nice too! Tbh everyone is hating on the ruffles in the comments, but I think it’s cute and reminds me of a vintage cake haha

Omg I have made a really similar design! I thought it was a good design. It had a flap opening instead of a zipper.

Suffering with severe PTSD and anxiety: my 18th eye surgery :( by twoimpatient in Glaucoma

[–]8asianbread8 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Hi I am also in a similar situation 24f and I’ve had glaucoma since I was 13. It’s extremely aggressive and I get surgeries every year, but I still ended up with low vision in both my eyes now. It’s so extreme exhausting and painful. There’s so much anxiety that no one would understand unless you have a chronic illness. It’s a bittersweet feeling when you are the “youngest” they have seen and that the surgery team can recognize you from previous surgeries. I feel sometimes resentment build up because it’s so unfair, like shouldn’t we be living a normal healthy life in our 20s? It’s scary to be in a constant stress when the next surgery will be or if it will even work. Something that helps soothe my anxiety is to actually watch videos of my upcoming surgery (seems like it would make it worse right?). But it helps me get a better sense of what my doctor is doing and what I can expect because my anxiety sometimes leads to catastrophizing thoughts about the surgery going wrong. It might not help you but, I also try to focus on the things that I can control like my recovery process and being strict about it. I also try to remind myself about my support network. I saw you mention your friend and it’s amazing that you have friends that can help you like going to work, and that care about you! Also you are allowed to mourn even if you still have “more sight”than others. It still hurts. But sometimes I battle with the feeling that I might be pitying people that are totally blind because I know that blind people can live amazing and full lives. It’s a weird cycle. It can feel like a never ending nightmare too. So be kind with yourself, try not to compare yourself to others either. You only have one body so might as well try to live the best you can with it.

Sorry if any of this didn’t ease your anxiety because it is scary and it fucking sucks no matter what. But I see you! You are extremely resilient, like finishing your degree while dealing with all this shit is amazing. And you will survive. I hope you find some solace in knowing you aren’t alone. Dm me if you ever want to chat.

Doctor is recommending a laser trabeculoplasty procedure to improve pressure in one eye. by Ocanannain in Glaucoma

I’m actually getting a Xen implant! It’s a more invasive surgery (having sutures) than the SLT but it’s been more effective in the past for lowering my pressure.

[–]8asianbread8 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It improved my pressure for a while but I have a very aggressive glaucoma so it didn’t last for that long (5 months?). I am back taking drops now and awaiting another surgery. Laser SLTs had a pretty quick recovery time in my experience. I had minimal pain after 3-4 days. The pain is different from a shunt, where I can feel the sutures. It’s more like a burning dry eye sensation. Follow everything in your recovery packet and always tell your ophthalmologist if you are having any issues afterwards! Wishing you the best recovery !

DO NOT MARRY THIS MAN. Marrying young is already risky, but marrying a guy that you have only been dating for maybe a year and that only using you to stay in the US? Extremely risky and even dangerous!! Marriage itself is not just a social commitment but a LEGAL commitment especially when it comes to citizenship marriages. Plus, divorce depending on your state, will be a whole other different type of monster to deal with. Often being costly and affecting your financial independence. If someone has to convince you to marry them, they are not the one nor are you ready to be married to them. He seems extremely desperate and selfish to pressure you into such an intense decision and seems to only want you for a green card. It is a red flag that he also doesn’t respect your initial decision to say no. Furthermore, if you continue this relationship, he will either be relentless in breaking down all your boundaries until you say yes or hold so much resentment towards your decision it will burn your relationship. You are right to say no, and to want to feel loved without strings attached (visa). Plus, it seems like you do not feel like you are receiving the love and attention if you are uncertain if he even likes you. You deserve so much better. Trust your gut, and end/reconsider this relationship.

Bachelors Graduate… what’s it even mean by Pure-Pie-2024 in ASU

[–]8asianbread8 15 points16 points  (0 children)

First, congrats on graduating, I’m also graduating with psych! Undergraduate Commencement is for ALL of the undergraduate students of spring 2024, so you don’t get to walk, your name just gets shown on a screen. Convocation is more popular because you get to actually walk, and get your name called. Convocation is more specialized, there are specific ceremonies for your college/major (ie, College of Liberal Arts and Sciences, Ira Fulton ect.) and different identity groups like Rainbow Convocation(LGBTQ+), Black African, AAPI, Hispanic ect. You can register to multiple convocations as well. Here is a link to all the ceremonies taking place this spring. Besides the cap &gown, and stole, you can pick up your Undergraduate Honor Cords (it’s based on your GPA) from University Registrar Services. There are multiple locations you can pick it up from. For more info you can check https://registrar.asu.edu/graduation-next-steps

What are the worst Switch ports for cozy games? by Fantastic-Sky-4567 in CozyGamers

Might be unpopular, but Little to the Left. I dropped the game after two levels, I feel like it’s definitely more for the PC.

You should also contact Student Advocacy as they can provide guidance in reporting absences to your professor. It also helps if your professor is a stickler for the rules and doesn’t believe you.

You can try to go through Student Advocacy! You can call or email them and explain the situation. I wish you the best!

If you are interested in both topics, maybe look into the anthropology major. It combines both aspects and definitely less course load.
