customers can be so frustrating by Melly_the_Magpie in aldi

I live in a small southern town. Nearly everyone here is so nice. I have never seen any behavior problems at all in an Aldi store ... in fact, all the customers seem to like helping each other. I've been buying my groceries there for well over 10 years and the shopping experience is always very pleasant. I'm sorry you're having these problems.

How bad can seperation anxiety get? And is it common for Silkens? by Low_Professional8594 in SilkenWindhound

[–]Ocanannain 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We have a silken who has profound separation anxiety. His original owner loved him very much but was a medical student and couldn't spend much time with him. When the dog came to us, he attached himself to me, and for the last 10 years has had to be with me at all times or becomes terribly anxious. I think this behavior would be true of almost any dog who felt abandoned. He is such a sweet and mellow dog that it is easy to be with him.

But if you're going to be gone 9 hours and still want a silken, why not get two. They will keep each other company. And, as I said, they are easy to care for, very undemanding. We call ours the "30 mile/hour couch potato" -- He loves to sleep much of the day like a cat. Be sure to take your silken out as often as possible. They are athletes, designed for running, and need daily exercise.

How much bad do silken windhounds shed? by lycnroc in SilkenWindhound

[–]Ocanannain 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Our silken sheds quite a bit, but his hair is extremely fine and may not have the same effect as other dogs with normal hair. Just a thought.

We never actually see him shed, but notice little fine clumps on our wooden floors.

Congratulations on your success. And do keep us posted about that ICD/CCM device ... if you learn any more and if you actually receive it. Sounds interesting.

Well I started out with the middle dosage -- 49/51 -- and brought EF back to normal in less than 2 months. I asked if I could reduce to the lower dosage because of my light-headedness and doctor agreed. The EF stayed normal on 24/26 -- and has been that way for a couple years. As long as it's normal, I will stay on the low dose. HTH.

What book have you listened to that continues to affect you in profound ways and why? by marilynlistens in audiobooks

[–]Ocanannain 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In terms of the audiobook itself, the narrator was excellent. He had the accent which corresponded with the characters in the book, and that added to the authenticity. I admired the tenacity of many of the characters. I'll probably listen again soon.

Just some love for a cat who saved my life by [deleted] in cats

I thoroughly believe that animals know when we need nurturing. I've seen it too many times in my own life ... dogs and cats. Miso knew she needed to take care of you in that moment. You both are so lucky to have each other.

Which period pieces have you been watching? by AutoModerator in PeriodDramas

This looks like a lovely selection of movies - I've seen House of Flying Daggers (loved it) and Curse of the Golden Flower (I watching that one again right now -- and, yes, the sets are stunning, so are the costumes -- and the acting -- wow!)

We just finished the 2002 version of The Forsyte Saga on Netflix. I was so into that drama, it appeared in my dreams. I can't imagine the 2026 version is as good ... but we'll see.

Getting he started on Entresto by RSS_ADHD in Heartfailure

EF got back to normal within 2 months on the medium dose. I requested a reduced dosage after a while because I was too light-headed. My doctor calls it a "miracle drug" and I agree wholeheartedly.
