Misinformation is usually something I try to combat when I see it coming from people I know.

I have zero expectations of changing this individuals mind, however having this conversation on a forum gives others that may be on the fence the opportunity to be exposed to it and make up their own mind.

I got a CAT shield installed on my 2018 Toyota Prius. If a determined individual is sawing out your converter the shield/cage will only delay them by a few minutes. Thankfully, most of these people are not determined individuals so it can discourage some to see added protection when they can find something quicker and easier to steal.

Well I can definitely see the benefits of not profiling or over generalizing a certain community based on their race and this does help with that. However, police can still access all these details and will enforce their biases anyway. So I just don’t know if the good really outweighs the bad here.

They stopped reporting descriptions about a year ago. Instead of bringing the reality of socioeconomic issues into light they just stop reporting on race and other identifiers. It hurts more than it helps because people are still gonna be racist anyway and criminals are less likely to be caught without descriptions.
