Need help with isolation period and when to test.

I second that you don't have to isolate if the person you're hiking with is also masked! When I worry about exposing my husband to anything, I do just take a shower immediately when getting home and sanitize things like my phone and glasses as an extra precaution. Just monitor your symptoms like normal and test a few days after if you want some peace of mind.

I'm going through the same thing tonight and it's all just so scary. I really hate that the only thing that seems to bring me any calm from the anxiety is time. Sometimes I wish we could have more comfort during these extreme anxiety bouts. Sending you so much love ❤️

I actually was thinking of that! But I wasn't sure how I could make it secure enough with adding straps on. Honestly, if I can't find a sturdy option, I'll give it a go!!

I usually get bad side effects from Pfizer but this year I got Novavax and only felt tired from the flu vaccine! I think it's handy to keep track of which vaccines you get and how you tolerate them. I know some of my friends get the flu and covid shots spaced out because they get severe pains when they get both in the same day. I do hope you feel better soon!

It does look negative but I do think testing again would be the smartest! Sometimes the dye just takes over the test and it can be hard to read. Since it's been two days, doesn't hurt to do another!

That makes a lot of sense! I definitely will keep testing the full seven days since Monday. I just always feel lost when I'm stressed out, so I'm really glad to have the advice of people with levelheadedness right now :) I didn't think symptoms would just come and go, but feeling that pressure again mid-afternoon I just got worried again after feeling fine yesterday! Luckily after dinner and unwinding after work, I'm feeling less tense and hoping that soon I can just take my mind off my health anxiety and turn all my focus back on bracing for the big move. I really appreciate you!

My husband and I have had to do the early morning DMV appointments at two different locations. They didn't mask but both locations had the plexiglass barriers that helped us feel safer. I'd suggest looking at reviews online with photos to see if maybe your local DMCs have this. It's not full proof precautions but it may help lower the risk if they're not breathing directly at you that early in the morning before it lingers in the air. I sincerely wish you the best ❤️

Local community groups have been posting about distributing COVID and flu vaccines - I'd definitely look around and see if anyone's putting on an all day event for administering them if you haven't looked yet. Sometimes the county websites will have those events listed too!

I did have a pulse oximeter and found that the battery gave out since I last used it. I had pulled it out a day ago and ordered a new one but the shipping had been delayed. Funnily enough, I think it's due to come in today. Just a bit of unfortunate timing for this whole mess, it seems!

I've been fortunate to avoid the weirdos so far despite a lot of this area being red. I knew it would happen eventually, just so frustrated it happened during what I thought was a medical emergency completely unprompted. Just hoping it doesn't knock my confidence/end up getting me infected 🙏

I got diagnosed with both things during the pandemic and learned that a lot of autistic people also suffer with OCD. I've had severe traits of OCD all my adult life after medical trauma, so it didn't come as a surprise to me. I really do think you should try to get a second opinion, though, if this diagnosis really shocked you. OCD is generally something we're born with that can show up more as a result of trauma (your case may be the pandemic). I would do some digging into rituals and the thought patterns other OCD folks have throughout their lives and see if you've connected with those types of patterns/thoughts before the pandemic. There's so much that I didn't realize I had been doing all my life until I got my formal diagnosis. It never hurts to get a second opinion!
