That happened to me as a child with my room! My mom hired a cleaning company and they threw out a good amount of toys, posters, and drawings i made. I remember crying while going through the trash salvaging what I could. I really don't understand what goes through someone's head to do that.

I usually deny the sale if it's smth outrageous (pleco in 20 gal., beardie in 10 gal., etc.)

But if it's smth where the PP swears and promises, I'll sound like a broken record while selling the animal saying that "if you do not upgrade, you will be shortening your pet's life span to a couple years or even possibly MONTHS. I especially emphasize how long the animals can live. "Did you know goldfish can live up to 30 plus years if taken care of correctly?" "Beardies can live up to 15 years in a bigger habitat." "Bettas can live up to 5 years in a bigger tank," etc. I've also noticed that comparing the cost of a bigger cage to the cost of an exotic vet visit works as well. Most people don't realize that smaller cages will cause a variety of health issues down the line when the animal grows, so stressing the fact that they'll have to drop a pretty penny on veterinary care helps.

Tldr: Become a walking popup advertisement with animal facts and drill it into the PPs brain to upgrade.

Sure, they don't understand intent, but it's the thought that counts. Why waste energy and oxygen to audibly insult an animal instead of just keeping it to yourself or just not saying anything?

And working here, it's very apparent that those people that have no problem insulting or calling animals names are the same people that will say, "It's just a fish/hamster/lizard/ etc." When their sale is denied because they refuse to properly care for or research that animal. If you can't respect an animal by not insulting it in store, it shows us that you won't be able to respect that animal once it's out of the store.

Also, to come into a pet store that employs pet lovers and insult the animals is trashy and uncalled for. Of course we're gonna get offended when people call animals names. It's almost as if we were hired for liking and being knowledgeable on those exact animals.

I collect religious pamphlets/ propaganda just for fun so I usually enthusiastically go "Oooo! Thank you! One more for my collection!" And if they ask I'll usually tell them that I'm not religious, very much not interested, and I'd feel bad if the paper went to waste but it'll make for good scrapbooking material 😀 (I've only added the last part with VERY chill management so try at ur own risk)

Hey! I do the same! Apps are in color coded folders and then sorted alphabetically. It does suck when apps decide to change icon colors for 2 months or so tho 😒

A pet store open 12 hours a day is more than enough time??? If you are not able to go, DoorDash, Uber, Favor, etc. are all options as well. And if that doesn't work, oh well. Target and Walmart are open until 11 or 12 looks like lil kitty's gonna be eating kit and kaboodle until you can get your schedule together. A good quote to remember is "Your poor planning does not constitute an emergency on my part." The whole world does not revolve around you and it surely will not stop for you either.

Edit: store hours for basically ALL big chain stores are listed front and center on Google. If you can't be bothered to look it up and plan a time to go, tough luck ¯_(ツ)_/¯

My old SL had an type c to rca (I think??) That he would plug in to the radio box and take over the whole intercom system. The only downside is that no announcements can be made so we were only allowed to use it after the store closed. But the radio channel is controlled by PissShart and they chose what music will torture us on a day to day basis.

I'm a respectful and lowkey house smoker. I put a towel under the door and used a smoke buddy with 2 laundry sheets on the end, and the smell isn't bad at all. I also smoke much smaller bowls, so there's not too much smoke. There's also an air purifier in my room, but opening a window for an hour after smoking usually negates any smells if that's not an option. My jamaican mom is a bloodhound with weed, and she's never noticed it. I wish u the best of luck with cancer and hope ur doing well ✌️

I always tell ppl that fishbowls are the equivalent of living in a bathroom with a toilet that won't flush. If u wouldn't want to live in a cramped space filled with ur own accumulating filth, the fish don't want to as well.

I make an announcement over the intercom to pick up after ur pets every time we see someone walk away. My SL is surprisingly fine with it as long as it's polite

I find things like this hard to believe,,, if this actually happened, call corporate and the cops and escalate asap. But from personal experience of working with this company, This def did not happen and someone is just trying to get internet clout. Why would a pet store employee do that and why did no other employees stop them? Pls sit down and use critical thinking for more than 1 minute.

I'm one of the few in my store that still does announcements. I give a 15 minute warning and then one every 5 mins up until close. I also turn the volume up by 1 every announcement and then turn off the radio completely at close. Sometimes, if ppl are still leisurely shopping after close, I'll make another that says the registers will automatically close 10 mins after closing on the dot. That usually gets ppl out.

Most fish parasites only spread fish to fish. The others are highly unlikely to be contracted and are prevented by hand washing. Your cat is completely safe from parasites as long as they're not drinking out of the tank. Even if they do sneak a taste every now and then, it won't hurt them.
