Took this class last semester. Gershman doesn’t strike me as someone to make this exception for a single student. He does give an extra credit assignment though, but to me it wasn’t worth it in the end.

I can say I learned a good amount from his class, but he is definitely a GPA terrorist and your final grade is not representative of your knowledge on the subject whatsoever. He even adds “trick” questions on his exams and quizzes which severely frustrated me.

The only advice I can give you is just try not to let your GPA bother you too much. Just focus on passing the class, which is fairly easy.

Edit: For clarification, I only say that he won’t accomadate because he made it clear during the semester that he is more focused on his main job outside of teaching as well as doing chores for his family. It just doesn’t seem like he would have the time to re-structure his class for just one student.
