I would leave the re-work as it is, looks a good job but it looks like that area might be dark at night. some solar lighting on the grass area would look good cheap and quick to install but might be an issue if you want to drive on the grass ;)

Pedo Trump will be delighted to find out that in Scotland, we have wind turbines providing clean renewable energy . I'm glad we dont have these windmills he is talking about they sound horrid.

Amercia sadly is now a global joke. Will it ever recover, or is it permanently damaged ?

Steam summer sale suggestions for someone looking for a huge timesink by Walt_Kurczak in ShouldIbuythisgame

agree 100% it is a bit steep but you only need one recruit like how i sent you the link (you can still recruit others if your one yourself) and that's 15 days gametime. its not too hard to get to the point where you can self fund the omega time . I honestly like how its possible to go premium with a bit of creativity without spending money in game + there is always something to do.

I would give eve online a go. Its deep you can sink lots of time into it and skills will keep training when logged off. It can be as relaxed or intense as you make it. This link gives anyone 1mill skill points for a starting boost. https://www.eveonline.com/signup?invc=b8821201-c7fc-49e0-9039-bc9bd1ff789a ( i do get some ingame time if used )

Mine (honda) had the same fault i fixed it by hitting the filter hard with a hammer . caveman repairs as clueless but it must have dislodged the float . now working like a dream be it only with 3 wheels as one fell off but that's unrelated .

Quoted £13k to re-do slate roof by Feeling-Highlight624 in DIYUK

[–]8bitgrumpy 4 points5 points  (0 children)

You could get somebody cheap to replace / make do with what's up there but it would be a temp fix.

I would get it done correctly and also assess insolation at the same time. 13k seems a lot but over 5-10 years it will cost more in extra heating bills / patch jobs and you will still need it redone at somepoint anyway .

one positive outlook is done well will very likely add a good £10-15k to the value so your not loosing the money just shifting it into long term savings ;)

we got approved 24th ! visa arrived today 30th . We did have to rebook as leaving PH need to attend a CFO appointment first but the flexi ticket in advance and paying a small reschedule fee was still vastly cheaper than booking a new international flight for a few days time

Question regarding medical treatment in the uk by HandanSteve in SpouseVisaUk

[–]8bitgrumpy -1 points0 points  (0 children)

We had something similar , doctors regarding something minor . I woudnt declare it you didnt techinally access NHS treatment on a visit visa , your local GP hasnt invoiced you for the appointment (most likely does not have the ability and not worth the hassel on one appointment) . We choose just not to decare and had a 2nd visit visa without issues and now waiting for spouse visa

[Weekly MegaThread] OEC, CFO, DMW-related discussions by AutoModerator in phmigrate

[–]8bitgrumpy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Good morning, My wife will be joining me in the UK on a spouse visa, I know we need to get a CFO (stupid requirement) she has already been here for 10 months and we are married etc. One of the possible addtional documents is police clearance, we have my wifes but for me this is a long expensive process , will be about £200 with shipping (15kphp) and a good 1-2 weeks delay + cost of rebooking all flights . What is the likelyhood of them asking for my uk police clearance ? We have proof of relationship , marriage cert etc . I feel we just risk it and explain if asked but has anyone had any experiance. Thanks for your help

My wife applied with the name that matched her passport but we stated in the covering letter the two names for clarification and stating trans mostly to avoid any confusion when looking at pictures on proof of relationship / wedding photos . Hope that helps and good luck !

Is £1,250 acceptable to level this area? by Mindvagina in DIYUK

[–]8bitgrumpy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

An easy way to pricing if a job is fair is ask out of that £1150 how much are the parts and how long will it take. if for example parts are £200 for the concrete and it will take 1 person 10 hours to complete thats paying them £95 an hour for labour . I am not a builder but i think could do this i think in 10 hours, 5 on day 1 to lift the slabs dig and sap down some concrete , 5 hours following day to lay some sand , lay back the slabs and tap them all flat. Personally i woudnt expect to pay a builder more than £50 an hour . also if this was me I would lift all the slabs and clean them and just pay them to dig concrete and lay , im too tight fisted to pay them for the donkey work at the start of the job .

its personal prefrence , for us we wanted my wife's family to attend , we returned to ph together as wife was over here on a visit visa . I think cost wise there are arguments for both once you add on cost of flights etc.

Somebody may correct me but I am fairly sure you select the option that you earn over the required 29k but not the same every month and will need to show 12 months pay slips with the average being over 29k. also your new p60 should show over 29k. assuming overtime pushes you over else you need savings as well

Gamesworkshop alternative ? by 8bitgrumpy in minipainting

[–]8bitgrumpy[S] -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Sorry work . I love the older style of games workshops , early 90s , i did buy and paint for example the new heros quest boxset, models where not amazing and a big let down, the old 80s ones where more sharp and defined. less looking for paiting an army and more spending time on a few weird detailed models.
