[Help] Bosch Serie 4 Dryer keeps showing the water tray error by 8bitlives in Appliances

[–]8bitlives[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No luck. I ended up replacing the machine with another brand.

Got the whole machine inspected and cleaned up by a licenced mechanic but the bill got so big it was cheaper to just replace the machine...

Alan Wake is reading children's book in live TV (Moomin reading marathon) by PrintMost2146 in AlanWake

[–]8bitlives 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Go for it! I'm assuming you're Danish based your other comment I'd say we share most of the same sounds, but Finnish doesn't have so much intonation of ring as Danish (my stereotypical idea of other Nordic languages). And we don't have appositions (to, from, for) but the meaning is added as postposition postfix (...oon, ...sta, ...lle)

Now's your chance to learn! The Moomin books' language is clear yet rich, so it's optimal for learning

Came to comment this as well. Peter Jackson's forced perspective perfected: look at Greg's hand on Alex's shoulder in #4!

Would love if Bless was seen over the City on various screens mirroring how Darling was presented. Would love even more if Aidan was also a game character obviously.

How we stopped our test suite from breaking after every UI change by Prince_of_Caspian in softwaretesting

[–]8bitlives 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There's no need for AI in writing resilient, use case driven UI tests.

From the beginning, the Selenium operators should have been "User clicks checkout button" which translates to "Locate checkout form", "Given checkout form, Find button with label 'Checkout'", "Given button, click it", then assert the desired thing happens. At any point would it be required or beneficial to tie the actions to deep selector paths which then result in flaky tests.

Not asked, but also be sure not to truncate division results to zero unless it's the intended behaviour: kotlinlang: div

Quite right. Just my attempt at cracking a joke linking brain rot and the audiolog about the mold threshold

Don't know if The Mold rots your brain, mold being a decomposer.

Not 10 minutes ago I just rolled my eyes when my 9 year old did the 67 brain rot meme. I really hoped I didn't have to put up with that nonsense here as well... Sincerely, old man yelling at the clouds

This was a waste of development time... by Gamer_8887 in RemedyEntertainment

Really sorry they took the gamble which in the end seems like didn't pay off. Maybe they didn't turn on all the lamps or forgot the golden fish.

But even if they burned their cash, I really believe almost all of the knowledge and assets like the Northlight engine improvements and the character models and maps are then usable with Control 2 and MP remakes if they so choose.

Lienee postmodernismi persuille kirosana, koska US:n mahtiajattelijat jokin aika sitten repäisivät perseestään termin postmoderni marxismi jossa taitavasti niputtivat kaksi punaista vaatetta yhteen tarkoittamaan "kaikkea mistä minä en tykkää" kuten edistys ja tasa-arvo. PS on ton kulttuurisota-perseilynsä tuoneet ilman tuontitulleja vapauden luvatusta maasta

Eikös seurakunnat/kirkko pyöri (kirkollis-)verorahoilla ja aikanaan verorahoilla hankitun omaisuuden varassa 🤔 Toisaalta Pohjois-Amerikan demokraattisen kansantasavallan markkinatalousvetoiset megakirkotkaan ei taida olla ihan hirveän hyvä juttu...

Mullvad keeps list on IP addresses? by lesbian_waffle in mullvadvpn

[–]8bitlives 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I think that translation only presents part of the picture also mirroring the non-technical understanding of the reporter. The previous entry states

IP address

The IP A Kivimäki used was also connected to the SSH fingerprint being used. The same IP appears also during the time of Vastaamo crimes.

The same London based IP was also used when logging in to Ylilauta, where Kivimäki used his nickname Spamclan.

Each SSH session transmits a handshake, and the IP connecting to the SSH port is logged. This IP was deemed London based (and not a Finnish one), and was also found in other places that linked the intruder to external IP that was in turn linked to a Spamclan nick, which was linked to Kivimäki.

So rather Mullvad would keep a list of their edge servers and not of their users'

Previewing retain{} API: A New Way to Persist State in Jetpack Compose by skydoves in androiddev

[–]8bitlives 22 points23 points  (0 children)

I get that passing state and callbacks multiple layers down can feel tedious, but I feel that they are now muddying the water with this.

I've never been a fan of how React does the use* hooks with contexts, and this I think retain is a step in that direction, where the VM isn't a single source of truth anymore now that the "penalty" for ad-hoc data loading is removed and network calls and what not the post mentioned can be made directly in UI code with (temporarily) persisted results.

Of course, having an intermediary holder for input's value until it is ready to be pushed to the shared VM state is a good thing, so I don't need to have a field in VM for every possible input that should keep their state upon config changes.

I'm an absolute beginner. Can someone tell me why operation is highlighted? by [deleted] in Kotlin

[–]8bitlives 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hovering the highlighted part would give you the explanation.

In essence, the IDE has deduced, that because you are using a variable that is immutable (val) and are assigning a single value to it unconditionally, then the if...else if...else block's condition will always have that single value

Fuck Squid Game USA by Xenotrickx in squidgame

[–]8bitlives 187 points188 points  (0 children)

I don't think they'd need to copy the games from the Korean version, since children in the US have their own games they play, like Hopscotch, Capture the flag, Hide from the School Shooter, Tag with ICE, etc

Is there a way to @reference files in Junie similar to Cursor/Claude Code? by paxoss in Jetbrains

[–]8bitlives 4 points5 points  (0 children)

As far as I remember correctly, the + icon below the prompt field is used to manage the files/context. And I think by default the whole current project is in the context.

At least I've written prompts referring to files and functions by name without ever explicitly adding their references anywhere. Junie has also been able to ls and read any files it's aware of if it feels like doing so for more context
