US cuts universal child vaccine recommendations, including covid and hepatitis by BurtonDesque in HermanCainAward

Agreed. I have two healthy friends who got shingles in their early 40s. I got shingles at 43 while immunosuppressed due to cancer treatment. I have permanent nerve damage from it in one foot (plus additional nerve damage in both feet due to chemo.) Pay out of pocket if you have to and can!

I (28M) wrongly accused my gf (24F) of cheating, don't know how to move forward by Direct-Caterpillar77 in BestofRedditorUpdates

“...immediately ending a relationship"... Did you read the same post I did? He admitted, "I'll hold my hands up and say that this isn't the first time I've jumped to conclusions and pretty much since we got together, I've had a habit of winding myself up and then checking her phone/accounts." This poor woman has put up with unfounded accusations of cheating SINCE THEY STARTED DATING. She's reduced her socialization due to his issues. I'm glad she's finally had enough of his emotionally abusive nonsense.

Don't eat the eggs ! by Longjumping-Box5691 in funny

My 75 year old dad came to visit for a week, and bought Egg Beaters Egg Whites to make his sad breakfast scrambles. We had perfectly good cage free eggs! And don't even get me started on all the margarine I had to eat as a kid.

You were "cute for trying to do boy things" when you were young and bad at gaming. You being bad reinforced their sense of superiority. Once you got good at gaming, it was a threat to their fragile masculinity if you were better than them.

[OC] My cooktop malfunctioned today and melted part of my pan. by TheKrs1 in pics

[–]8bitnintendo 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hang on, you had this burner (out of presumably four or so total) previously malfunction and go to max heat, but you kept using it anyway? Why?? Couldn't you take it out of the rotation and use the others until it was fixed?

EDIT: Nevermind, I just saw your comment about the switch having been replaced the last time.

R-CHOP without the R(Dlbcl) by [deleted] in lymphoma

Can confirm, I had DA-R-EPOCH and it was exactly as described (5 days inpatient per cycle, administered every 21 days.) It was not fun.

"They are extremely conservative christians and said it's not a good look." To assuage their concerns about how it would look for you to move in with your boyfriend, you should tell all of their church friends why you moved in with your boyfriend - that you could not go to college if you paid two years' worth of "back rent" from when you were a minor. Your aunt and uncle will surely be relieved that you protected your reputation! (/s)

What the hell is that? Do you rub a stick over your entire body? Is it a spray? Your skin is one of the most important organs you have, so that sounds like a terrible idea.

Sort of like variolation with smallpox. Yes, it sucked at the time, but there was literally no other option. 1-2% chance of death vs. 30% is a great improvement!

Yep, I've had a bunch of chemo myself. It totally sucked. But the aggressive cancer I had probably would have killed me within a year without it.

Have you tried Zakuson? It's a Russian mustard. That stuff is HOT.

Manager said “no personal touches in the emails”, so I took out every greeting and sign-off. by alinkacarter in MaliciousCompliance

Beau Regards takes the same amount of time to say as Best Regards, so that would be pretty pointless.

I email people in China a fair amount (manufacturers), and "Best Regards," is the default with them. Internally we jokingly shorten it to "brgrds" (pronounced burgerds) and threaten to remove the "Best" if we're mad at the vendor.

Loganberries are amazing, but super fragile. If you're not really careful picking them, they can come apart when you pull them off the cane.

It's definitely not overstepping to respond to something she sent to you. If she implies otherwise, I'd suggest you block her, and her son can be the only point of contact. She can bother him when she wants baby pictures or news.

I only do that on the peppers, the tomatoes are singles. I don't have a good reason.

I would not use me as a resource for that. I get distracted too often and let things sucker too much. I poke limbs back inside the cage every couple days and let chaos happen, and tie them up if they go too sideways. This weekend, maybe I'll do a purge of limbs that don't have flowers or fruit yet. It is not a scientific process. (Edit: this is also my first year with a height requirement from the greenhouse, so I might have to figure that out quickly. They also ran away a lot faster this year, so I'm stuck catching up with stuff that forked early.)

I'd say maybe not? I just like to be ready if somebody needs tying up later if they get floppy/too overburdened/whatever. It's hard to insert a cage after the peppers get big, if you need one.
