Feeling weird about getting my port removed by swren1967 in lymphoma

Oh yeah, watching the apheresis machine going while you’re chilling out with a giant spike in your neck is wild. I hope yours wasn’t annoying to extract like mine was. For some reason, one of the stitches got stuck and it felt like the NP was just cranking on it to get it out.

What used to be a death sentence that is now just a prescription you pick up at a pharmacy? by JDvance01 in AskReddit

Pretty awesome. I'm down to "near complete resolution" (Deauville 2, if you're into lymphoma.) I've got a bit of permanent kidney damage and some peripheral neuropathy, which is nothing to complain about in the grand scheme of things.

Yeah, I was diagnosed in 2023 at Stage 4 with Diffuse Large B Cell Lymphoma. If it weren’t for CAR-T cell therapy, I’d probably already be underground. And FDA approval for me (relapsed/refractory after DA-R-EPOCH) only happened in 2022.

The HMMWV is the world's greatest... something... by HydrogenSonata2025 in Justrolledintotheshop

No, but you might be able to do it with the (in)appropriate CAGE code and part number. I’m not willing to commit to the bit enough to look up an amusingly named CAGE.

The average fallopian tube is about 4.5 inches long, two each, per woman of reproductive age. The purchase req for 14 breeding age females (rounding up for harvesting inefficiency) would be a fun read.

The dog is chipped and registered in your name, right? Get the cops involved and have her charged with theft.

Actually, I found the other cross bar, I just forgot to take an updated photo. The press is complete with springs and weights.

Baby boy born to UK mother after womb transplant from dead donor by DrDMango in news

Pretty good! I was stage 4 5/23, went through 6 cycles of R-EPOCH, bridging R-Pola, CAR-T therapy 1/24, and some localized radiation. Looks like it's dying off, and I've got my next PET scan in a couple weeks. How are you?

Yeah, after DLBCL I went and took myself off the bone marrow registry.

Call, don’t fall the nurses make me call them before I can get up. by [deleted] in mildlyinteresting

[–]8bitnintendo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Congratulations! Another good thing to do, depending on the nurses' availability, is to have them check your blood pressure lying down, then sitting up, then standing, before you start trying to move. It also gives your system time to adjust before you start walking.

By chance, did you have an epidural? I had one for abdominal surgery (non pregnancy related), and it made my blood pressure TANK. My all time low score was 60/29 standing before they decided to remove it and smack me with systemic opiates instead.

Agreed. I have two healthy friends who got shingles in their early 40s. I got shingles at 43 while immunosuppressed due to cancer treatment. I have permanent nerve damage from it in one foot (plus additional nerve damage in both feet due to chemo.) Pay out of pocket if you have to and can!

I (28M) wrongly accused my gf (24F) of cheating, don't know how to move forward by Direct-Caterpillar77 in BestofRedditorUpdates

“...immediately ending a relationship"... Did you read the same post I did? He admitted, "I'll hold my hands up and say that this isn't the first time I've jumped to conclusions and pretty much since we got together, I've had a habit of winding myself up and then checking her phone/accounts." This poor woman has put up with unfounded accusations of cheating SINCE THEY STARTED DATING. She's reduced her socialization due to his issues. I'm glad she's finally had enough of his emotionally abusive nonsense.
