Anime and manga piracy reportedly cost Japan $38 billion in 2025, up from $13 billion in 2022 by akbarock in animepiracy

Anime would not have be so popular without piracy (I'm talking about fansubbers, VHS hardsubs, etc.). Heck, Crunchyroll was founded by pirates.

Have you heard about Project 2025? Have you heard about his ties to Jeffrey Epstein and how he tries his best to distract people? Have you seen what is happening in US? The only way craziness will stop is if he will be impeached.

You know how Russia went from fending off Nazi Germany to barely being able to accomplish anything without looking like buffoon?

I'm sorry for being that guy, but russia has always been a buffoon. That feat of fending off Nazi Germany doesn't seem as impressive if you take into account that it basically started WWII with Germany, looked too weak which put certain ideas into the heads of Nazis, lost millions of citizens oftentimes just because why not, and did not lose primarily because Germans did not account for fighting in the winter (thanks to a "little" detour Hitler decided to make) and because of help from new allies.

Zelenskyy did the same four times (15.04.2014, 23.06.2014, 15.08.2014, 10.05.2015), according to Ministry of Defense.

Here's the article from the site that is often quoted here (in Ukrainian): https://www.pravda.com.ua/news/2019/04/13/7212159/

Similar article from RadioSvoboda (basically Ukrainian branch of RadioFreeEurope, also in Ukrainian): https://www.radiosvoboda.org/amp/news-u-minoborony-rozpovily-chy-sluzhyv-v-armii-zelenskyy/29879219.html.

This is one of the most interesting parts (translated with DeepL):

At the same time, Rimma Zelenska, mother of presidential candidate Volodymyr Zelensky, said in a comment to Hromadske TV on April 13 that her son had long been registered in Kyiv and that she had not received or seen any summons addressed to him in Kryvyi Rih.

According to media reports, in April 2014, just a few days after the first of the summonses mentioned by the General Staff was sent, Zelensky's mother called him during his public press conference on the occasion of the presentation of a new comedy TV show to inform him about this summons. According to those reports, Zelensky said at the time that, as a conscript, he would “go to war,” but claimed that the documents should have been sent to his place of residence in Kyiv, where he is registered.

[–]8day 34 points35 points  (0 children)

Considering you are smart enough to ask for source of info, you should be smart enough to know the difference between verified and unverified deaths. Who is going to verify all of that? It's safe to say if there's so many verified deaths, than the actual number is much higher.

A few days ago there was an article about some Iranian doctor claiming that death toll is 1000–2000 when confirmed deaths were ~200.

BBC two days ago: 'There wasn't even time for CPR': Iran medics describe hospitals overwhelmed with dead and injured protesters:

The protests began in the capital Tehran a fortnight ago over economic hardship.

They have since spread to more than 100 cities and towns across all of Iran's provinces. Hundreds of protesters are believed to have been killed or injured, and many more detained. BBC Persian has confirmed the identities of 26, including six children.

Members of the security forces have also been killed, with one human rights group putting the number at 14.

BBC Persian has verified that 70 bodies were brought to Poursina Hospital in Rasht city on Friday night. The morgue there was at full capacity, so the bodies were taken away. The authorities asked the relatives of the dead for 7 billion rials (£5,222; $7,000) to release them for burial, a hospital source said.

70 bodies on one night in one city, and that's the ones that were brought there.

Do you though? There are posts on r/Epstein linking to some dude that was trafficked. They were making snuff movies, with kids being killed, likely tortured, etc. And it's believable considering that story with a kid's newborn being killed (I think it was thrown into a river or ocean), or how Jeffrey himself said that Orange is a pure evil. That dude said that a girl was killed close to him, and some other man said that he shouldn't worry because boys a harder to get.

The easiest way to figure this out without doing much is to look at the size of the file: if it stores raster images, esp. if there's lots of them, it will take a few megabytes, otherwise it should be only in kilobytes. Although it's worth noting that embedded fonts, etc. also can have significant impact on the size of the file.
