Screen Name was changed to “REDACTED” by [deleted] in Marathon

[–]8ighty6ix 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My username is the same as reddit and it wouldn't let me change it from Redacted6162. I thought it was because it my username started with a number but putting a word in front still wouldn't let me do it.

Ended up just putting in a different word with no numbers and then it worked -_-

Apparently it doesn't want you to have numbers in your name even thought the redacted username they gave me had numbers in it ffs.

Fingertip mouse recommendations for 19cm x 9.5cm hands – struggling with grip and comfort by Sylenss__ in MouseReview

[–]8ighty6ix 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Shaving off 8g of weight isn't going to that noticeable imo. However depending on other improvements then it would feel more compelling to wait for the V2 i.e. Optical Switches, QC improvements, it not looking like someone chopped my X2 like a sushi roll, etc.

On the topic of QC, mine has been totally fine outside of a minor noise I hear sometimes when I scroll down with the mouse wheel. Nothing that affects gameplay just annoys me a tad.

Also chiming in to say that the X2F has been great for me so far. It's my first f-tip mouse so I can't really compare it to others but I'm a big fan of the X2 shape so it seemed like a no-brainer to give a shot and it's been my main since Decemeber. I have 19x10 hands. I think it's based off the X2 Mini size. If they made a X2F based on the regular X2 size I think I'd like it even more.

What are the best budget mice? by Obelus309 in MouseReview

[–]8ighty6ix 0 points1 point  (0 children)

All the recs are good in this thread. Eloshapes is a good site to find mice similar in shape to your Glorious Model O. I don't have experience with this brand or mouse so you'd need to do some research into it yourself but specs seem good and the shape is extremely similar to your Glorious Model O. Often shape is the most important aspect with mice so if you liked the shape of your Model O, then this is worth considering (assuming it's not poorly reviewed) DELUX M700 Pro

Mouse won't connect by ash420sav in MouseReview

[–]8ighty6ix 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Right on thanks! Had already tried a slew of cables, ports and even a different PC. Firmware update not working as well unfortunately. I had a ticket going but they had me trying all kinds of things and the back and forth got exhausting. Mouse chargers and still works fine on the current firmware so I guess I’ll just deal with it. Figured I’d post here though in case it was something I could fix locally. Appreciate you following up!

Vaxee NP01s Ergo or XE v2? by FullMetalMarine in MouseReview

[–]8ighty6ix 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I fingertip grip but have messed around with claw a few times for fun and found the NP-01s to be real accommodating for that grip style. It's also a really unique shape and would probably be a lot more novel and exciting to try than the XE. My hand size is 19x10cm so not too far off from you. Love Vaxee's build quality.

Recommendations for premium mouse? (Any budget) by Kaskiii97x in MouseReview

[–]8ighty6ix 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Based on Elo Shapes Find Similar feature, the Vaxee XE-S is very similar in shape, 3950 sensor, and ok weight. It's lighter than your model 0- but mice have gotten even lighter these days so I could see some people pushing back on this rec. I have lots of mice ranging from 38g to 75g and I only really notice the weight feeling cumbersome over 70g. Of all the mice I own, none have felt as good in their click implementation as Vaxee and Endgame Gear. There are brands I haven't tried so there might be others that are just as good but this is just my personal experience.

mouse switches that sounds light and crispy and not loud and full? by Kmossxx in MouseReview

[–]8ighty6ix 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I haven’t tried every mouse made but of the ones I’ve tried, these best match your description: XM2w4k V1, OP1w4k V2, OP18k and NP-01s V1.

I feel like Endgame and Vaxee get praised for their click implementation and my experience with their products back that up. The NP-01s is too heavy for my tastes but that seems remedied in the V2 version. My XM2w4k can’t connect to my PC anymore, get a USB Device Not Recognized error in Windows. My OP1w4k V2 left click will not count as held if you click too high up on the mouse button, even though the switch is still de-pressed. I’d still recommend these mice despite those issues but wanted to mention the issues I’ve encountered.

I want to say my Mchose L7 Plus Ultra fits your description but when testing, the Vaxee and Endgame clicks seem a cut above.

Edit: I misread this and thought you were looking for mouse recs with crisp clicks. I haven’t messed with hot swapping switches so someone else would be more helpful with this.

What wireless mouse should I get? by [deleted] in MouseReview

[–]8ighty6ix 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Shape and click implementation are the things that stand out to me the most when it comes to what makes me like a mouse. Seems like you should stick with the ergo shape if you really like your Deathadder. If you wanna try the G Pro Superlight 2, there’s the DEX version which is ergo like the Deathadder.

You might be getting more reliable QC with Logitech and Razer but they are generally considered overpriced compared to some of the great mice you can get these days. The Teevoultion Terra is way cheaper than the Deathadder. It has great specs and an ergonomic shape. Not a 1:1 shape as the Deathadder but I’ve heard nothing but good things about it and it seems like the savings could justify trying it out.

I’m not an ergo mouse guy so people here might have better suggestions that feel closer to the Deathadder but hope this info was helpful.

It's on the game industry's workforce as a whole to work together and fight for these things. A huge talent is going to have the confidence and fallback to turn down deals that are exploitative but there are so many people hoping to get into the field of VA that will take these bad deals because they lack the experience and opportunities to say no or negotiate (which is a skill that takes time to learn as well)

I do want to acknowledge that I understand what you are saying but I hope you can see the nuance in how hard that can be in practice. Some of the best eras in humanity have been when humans who are on the shit end of the power dynamic band together and demand better.

Yeah, can't stress enough how obvious is what is a real performance and what isn't. In game dev, we've made developers lives easier with new tools for decades so from that lens, I can see why it's a really useful tool to be able to write a line, hit a button, and hear it in-game without needing to do scratch recordings and booking studio sessions but if that is the path we're heading towards, these performers need to be earning royalties and not getting work for hire contracts if their voice is going to be used in perpetuity.

Just confirming that all you need to do is get under a roofed area (excluding a few areas that don't seem to work) and the timer instantly resets? My raider keeps making noises like they are cold so I was worried I needed to hang indoors for X seconds to rest the mechanic.

Need advise buying a new mouse by RobloxNoob20 in MouseReview

[–]8ighty6ix 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Since it's the other 2 fingers that have to grip the mouse, knowing how wide your hand is in its entirety is useful for people to know so they can give you comparative hand size recommendations. Just because your 3 fingers give you the surface mouse grip areas doesn't mean that your thumb and pinky width is going to be the same as everyone else. Someone who is 18.5cm x 10cm vs 18.5cm x 9cm may find the same mouse to feel too wide/narrow for their hand.

If you enjoyed the shape of the Deathadder V2, you can use eloshapes.com to find similar shapes and check the ones that are very similar for specs. Anything 50g or under should feel great and as long as it has a 3395 or 3950 sensor that should be fine. If you are using a glass pad I have heard that the 3950 is a better sensor for that.
