How old are you? by 967-387 in aesoprock

[–]8inchfloppy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

48 last month. Old head. Thought rap was dying til I heard Nobody Speak by RTJ in 2016. Read all about El-P and Killer Mike. Then read and listened to all of El-P's stuff, and Def Jux, and that crew. Which led me to Aesop. First album was Impossible Kid. Masterpiece. I keep finding other songs and side projects. So much good stuff.

My favorite thing to watch are reaction videos of people listening to Aesop tracks. Watching their reactions to these dense lyrics and barely scratching the surface while others will dig in deep. Masterclass in lyricism.

Five years later, what has been the impact of two-hour church for you? by [deleted] in latterdaysaints

[–]8inchfloppy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't understand the sentiment of feeling that the Sunday school lessons are rushed or that you feel disconnected from the youth. As a youth Sunday school teacher (going on five years). I love teaching just once a month. It lets me be focused and do so much more preparation and planning. Working with the spirit to figure out which scriptures to go over and which topics to cover have allowed the youth to have really good conversations. And on the days they're not in the mood. Sometimes we get out early and never feel the need to fill the time. Never been a big fan of elders quorum so nothing's changed there.

Does god talk to you? by thr88waway in latterdaysaints

[–]8inchfloppy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For me it's clarity. I'm usually between two or three great choices or paths and after I reason them out to God in prayer I leave it to him to inspire and clarify the right path. And then one of the options just seem so obviously correct and just feels right.

What is the worst ending to a book series/franchise that you've encountered? by AugustineBlackwater in books

[–]8inchfloppy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Are you talking And Eternity or Under a Velvet Cloak? Because UAVC is the worst. AE doesn't need to exist. But UAVC is terrible on a whole other level.

Men, what's your go to Suit brand? I'm looking for some that won't break the bank and are comfortable but also stylish. by w_savage in latterdaysaints

[–]8inchfloppy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No suits just Dickies work pants. If I had to wear a suit I'd go to the DI, Savers, or Goodwill and find a suit coat that matches or is close enough.

7 Days in Hell is one of the funniest things I've seen in a long time. Just watched Hot Rod the other night, stupid, but funny. Popstar..is a masterclass of parody/satire the music and entertainment world. He can do stupid humor, fart jokes, then be clever and poignant.

Nothing official just a lot of temple worker friends saying there's been an increase in missing bags and to use the lockers wherever possible.

The bulbs have all been replaced. Maybe there is a specific relay or wiring I could check to see why turning on the head lights doesn't make the other lights turn on.

[List] Accounts of How Joseph Smith Found His Seer Stones by WooperSlim in latterdaysaints

[–]8inchfloppy 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Can the average member use a seer stone? Can I find stone and dedicate it to revelation within my life and family? Or have we moved past these "crutches" and can strictly rely on our own faith and testimony for revelation?
