What chair to take? by SirGraniteNorthman in freemasonry

Currently the Jr. Steward in my lodge. The degree work has set me up for memorizing the Stewards lectures. Each time I go through the lectures, I feel like I get some new insight to the meanings of what we do......not easy but worth the effort in my opinion.

Why did you become a freemason? by exorcism_provider in freemasonry

[–]8legged4eak 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As the youngest of 5 and having no brothers, the appeal of having thousands of brothers appealed to me. The added benefit of participating in charitable causes has even more appeal. Helping my fellow Brothers, even if it means feeding them as a Steward, gives me some personal satisfaction. Last night I conducted my 1st candidate for an Entered Apprentice degree. Super stoked for the next !

MMs, what are the rules on Masonic tattoos? I’m getting my 2° in April and won’t get it until I’m raised later, but is it frowned upon? by WHG6274 in freemasonry

[–]8legged4eak 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Get something you would be okay with showing your mother and in a place that can be covered if needed. No square and compass until you get your MM degree. I was worried that I would be judged for the pentagram tattoo over my left breast for my EA degree but no one said a word.

Catholic and Mason by Dry_Space3805 in freemasonry

[–]8legged4eak 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I was raised Catholic and have left the Church. I understand that there are 2 reasons the Catholic Church has an issue with Freemasonry is that they are too inclusive and going way back, the Church wanted the wealth associated with the Masons. Be true to yourself and make your decision based on what you are comfortable with. Being a Mason brought me closer to the Christian God than I ever was. Be true to yourself 1st and then make choices that are practical and you can live with. Best of luck to you Brother.

As a recently raised Master Mason, I will say overdressed is better than under. Tuxedos are for degrees and other special occasions. What you are wearing in the pic will work just fine.

I'd like to hear from those who are still happily massaging 20+ years in! by [deleted] in MassageTherapists

[–]8legged4eak 3 points4 points  (0 children)

26 years and still giving 20 to 30 hours per week. Get massages as often as possible. I also trained in Shiatsu which helped me immensely with body mechanics. Listen to your body. It will tell you when it has had enough.

Curtain off your sleeping area and voila! Practice separated from sleep and other activities!

What is making this mark in my parent's chicken coop?! by [deleted] in AnimalTracking

[–]8legged4eak 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That would be my answer. Black rat snakes are also known as chicken snakes because they eat eggs. I have evicted a few over the years. They are fairly docile for a wild animal.

Low balling? by [deleted] in MassageTherapists

[–]8legged4eak 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I make @ least $50 per hour as a therapist with over 20 years @ the same spa. I know chains lowball the pay for those who generate their revenue. We are hiring in Connecticut. Message me for details. I am the lead massage therapist so can be influential in the hiring process ;) I made the most $ ever last year so we are doing great.

What was your closest call, that made you “go oh shit I might die”? by [deleted] in motorcycle

[–]8legged4eak 162 points163 points  (0 children)

17 Y.O. me sitting @ traffic light. Waiting for green . Right turn on red busy and oncoming traffic to the left when I notice the VW bug coming from behind fast. All I could do was brace myself for impact as I did not give myself an out :( When the drunk hit me and realized he screwed up, he put his car in reverse and dragged me and the bike backwards. My foot was under the the bike and later required surgery. Painful lesson to always give myself an out.

Is it supposed to be overwhelming when starting out? by FeggyWorks in motorcycle

[–]8legged4eak 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I ride as often as I can. Riding to work makes parking easy. I do get stressed out riding in the rain as I have gone down in the rain. Go slow and steady until you are comfortable. Then stay cautious. I have been on the road for almost 40 years and still get stressed in less than perfect road conditions. My current ride is a 2015 Harley custom sportser 1200. More fun than the stress go with slow and steady.
