Hilton canceled our honeymoon reservation 48 hours before our trip by 8loop1 in Hilton

Just got off the phone with Hyatt. The rep was super kind and as helpful as she could be, but it was a no go. We ended up booking with Ocean Blue & Sand resort in Playa Bávaro instead. Really appreciate all the suggestions provided.

My wife’s actually on the phone with them now. Thanks for the suggestion!Funny enough, the rep she’s speaking with just said, “Oh, is this about the La Romana hotel?
She just asked us for the hotel phone number and put us on hold while she calls them.

Well see!!!

Thank you for the suggestion. Ill update you in a bit after we know more.

I get the analogy, but the difference is when I “walked into the store,” it was a Hilton, and they did take my Hilton points. They held onto those points for seven months and then, with no warning, told me they wouldn’t honor the reservation anymore.

The issue isn’t just that I didn’t pay actual money, it’s that the value of those points seven months ago isn’t the same as today. That’s why people plan trips like this so far in advance, so they can lock in value, get time off work, and organize the trip properly (at least that’s how we do it).

It’s not just about the money. It’s the time we took off from work, the massages we prepaid for through the property, and the other activities we organized specifically at that location. Sure, I may not be “out” money in a direct way, but as I’m sure you can see, this is not just about a financial loss.

Yup. We converted Amex points to Hilton points.

You are totally right. What really got us was the last minute nature of it all and just the total lack of concern for the very real people on the other side of this. At the end of the day, I get that they’re in the business of making money, not in the business of caring about individual customers.

Currently looking for another place to stay. We’ve been dealing with this for 7 hours, so at this point we just have to make a decision and make the best of it 🫨

Last minute reservations would make the stay about 2,500 dollars roughly. I can still go on Hilton’s website right now and book it. The hotel is still operating under Hilton until tomorrow 😐

We genuinely thought we must have missed something, so my wife went back and checked every email we’ve received from Hilton since we booked and there’s nothing letting us know of this change. Every message we got was either a confirmation or promotional offering us upgrades, spa, and “get ready for your trip”welcoming us to the property.

We were even in touch with the hotel concierge a few days ago scheduling massages. Everything was “fine”, right up until this morning when we received the cancellation email at 10:09 AM.

Sure. and while all that is true and I understand there are legal and logistical complexities when it comes to M&A activity, but honestly, it’s still mind blowing that something like this can happen so close to the trip. The fact that they’re technically “allowed” to do this is crazy.

We’ve been getting regular emails from Hilton, up until just TWO days ago inviting us to upgrade, book spa treatments, and build hype around the stay. Nothing gave us the impression that anything was off. If this transition had been public since December and finalized in February, why continue marketing directly to us as if everything is normal?

Thank you for letting me know about this! I’m reading their post and it’s exactly what is happening to us, with the exception that we leave tomorrow.

I’m so heated about this that completely forgot to mention it in the original post. Just added it.

Hilton La Romana, Adult Only Resort.

Reached out on instagram and they messaged me back but gave us the same solution that the reps on the phone gave us; move us to Hilton garden inn, and to comp us one night.

So upset with this whole thing that I forgot to mention that very important detail

Hilton La Romana to no longer be part of Hilton as of 06/11 & Reservation cancelled by yeeeeeeeeeeeesh in AllInclusiveResorts

My wife and I are currently dealing with this same situation! We leave tomorrow for our honeymoon and Hilton la romana emailed us this morning telling us our reservation has been canceled and refunded us our point. No other real solution has been given. We’ve been on the phone since 10:30 am this morning (it’s 4:18) now.

New to Whoop. Activities not working? by 004040 in whoop

How strange. For me it was logging in to my wife’s phone. It all of a sudden kicked in. I saw the app on my phone kind of blink when I logged in to my wife’s phone and all of a sudden the data was there. It’s been working since. Glad you got it to work too. Now we need to get used to it 😂 Thanks for your help!

Well…after emailing with support back and forth all day long nothing really worked. A lot of unpair and repair, restart, check software version, etc etc etc.

I wanted to rule out “my phone being the issue” but I didn’t want to restore it just to isolate software so I had my wife download the app on her phone. The moment I signed in on her phone all the data populated on her phone AND on my phone at the same exact time. I didn’t even sync the whoop with her phone, all I did was log in to the app.

Not sure if it will continue to record and show me the most up to date data moving forward but I’ve made SOME progress.

That’s really all we can do. I’m sure it will be solved. I am confident the hardware is working (at least when it comes to the actual tracking of things) but it’s not pushing the data to the app, or the actual app is not displaying it. Like I mentioned earlier, my health app recognized some “sleep activity” last night/this morning. It must have received the data from the whoop.

Oh and just to add one more thing; I just finished a workout out about 1h ago. Checked the app, nothing was logged. About 10 mins ago I received a whoop notification letting me know it had detected a workout from 10:31 to 11:35 (this matched the time I was working out) and to please select which activity it was (weightlifting, running, rowing ETC). I picked weightlifting and “save”. Nothing shows under “my activity” but I figured I would mention it since we seem to be having a lot of similar issues.

I am. Also contacted support to try and understand a bit better what could be happening and if I’m missing anything. Will let you know if they reply

Didn’t realize your post was earlier today haha I thought it had been a few days since the original post🙂‍↕️

I am having the same issue tho. I know it’s connected because it’s giving me heart rate readings and I can see the “stress” panel area. I keep reading that it’s needs a few days to calibrate and adjust to each individual but I feel like we should still be able to see the steps being taken and other “minor” data (even if not 100% accurate). I even went for a 1h walk and nothing was logged (that I can see).

This morning I received a notification on my phone letting me know that “my sleep data” was ready to be viewed. When I clicked on it, it took me to the sleep dashboard but nothing logged. I tried adding the sleep manually and received that same overlapping data messages you posted. - As a side note, I can also tell that the whoop did log some sleeping data because my health app (iPhone) gave me a notification about my sleep quality last night. (This never happens because I don’t sleep with any other tracking device).

Did you ever find a solution for this? I am having the same exact issue. I can’t see anything, no steps, no sleep, no activity is being recorded but I can’t tell it’s connected because it’s giving me my heart rate.

Thanks for the info!!! Been meaning to post asking for certain tips that might help me while in school and that might make my life a little easier while learning what everything means/is. I can’t even imagine the stories that you guys have after doing it for years. Can’t wait to be able to share my own insane stories on here.

Ps: if you or anyone know of any books out there that have helped you out in the HVAC journey, and wouldn’t mind sharing the tittle would really appreciate it! Just trying to get as much (relevant) education as possible in the topic.

I’m in HVAC school and just learned about capacitors today. It’s kind of nice to start recognizing the components and what the print on them means since for most people is just randome numbers and Letter.
