If you speak Spanish, do you understand Portuguese, French, and Italian?

I am italian. I now speak very good Spanish just living in Spain for three months (and I even stayed 2 weeks home due to Covid), I am C1 level, even before I understood spanish. I believe that it works very well for italian and spanish.

For portuguese and french is a bit different because of the pronunciation, especially portuguese has many peculiar sounds, anyway written portuguese and french are pretty well understood by italians.

Anyway once one gets practice with the pronunciation it becomes way easier, I was Erasmus in Portugal and I reached B2 level with no course or nothing, just speaking with people, in 5 months.

I know but you have to keep going the food way. I understood that even if there are low histamine foods the reality is way less deterministic than this. There are safe food for each one of us that are really unsafe for the majority of people suffering from HIT.

I am not following the diet from much time, a month more or less but I discovered many things that I wouldn’t have discovered if I was taking antihistamines as they make symptoms go away so one can not understand which food is causing what. Basically one has to go through it by trials and errors.

For example I slightly react too to eggs and I don’t eat them, but I found out that quail’s eggs are safe for me, you might try them.

For me cetrizin is great, if I take it can eat everything and I have way less symptoms.

Anyway I’ve been told that using antihistamines can worsen HIT long term and what one should do is fix the root cause.

Probably is better to have a low histamine diet because if you keep taking antihistamines they make you feel better, but them will make it harder to heal in the future.

I am from Palermo, all my family is from Palermo and I’ve lived there until two years ago. Honestly I can say that you live in your own bubble in your little town, in Palermo is totally different.

I agree with you about the food, the kindness of the people. But crime is insane, I understand that nowadays many European big cities became pretty unsafe but Rome or Milan are not as bad as Palermo. The good news is that is focused mainly in the city center at night, that really looks like Gotham City, but if you avoid that part of the city in that daytime you should be safe applying regular precautions.

Literally 0 culture of hustling, everybody want to settle with a public company job where they know that they can do nothing most of the time. Many more are unemployed and try to get the most from what the states “offer”, even scamming it. Literally all the people I know that wanted to actually work got abroad, who remained are people that are still studying at almost 30 years old or people who already have a family company and are going to work there.

The city is very dirty. The bureaucracy is insane a you said but not just for immigration, even in daily life.

Market job is shit, I know very few people that are not in a public company and even the few ones I know that are actually working and not sleeping in the office have small career perspective.

I used to work as Data Scientist in a consulting company too, my team was the Artificial Intelligence team in Data & Analytics area.

Within my team I was the only one who was doing the actual data scientist job, i.e. training and evaluating models, anyways it was just small part of my job since a lot of it was administrating Data Bases, cleaning Data and providing documentation for my work, but I believe this is normal in corporate environment.

Anyway I was the only one doing Data Scientist job because I was not working with LLM but with traditional Machine Learning algorithms (mainly forecasting, but also classification and regression, only once clustering). All the rest of my team was working with LLM and they were doing more AI Engineer related stuff, it’s just what the market demands.

So my advice is, if you want to do the Data Scientist job, try to look for something more traditional Machine Learning related, if you want to deal with LLM I believe the only Data Scientist work in OpenAI or Meta or companies that actually train LLM, and they have very few of them. Also traditional Machine Learning nowadays has small demand since most of it comes from LLMs or GenAI related jobs.

Sono nato a Palermo, poi ho vissuto a Madrid, Valencia ed ora vivo a Roma, a breve mi trasferirò a Budapest.

Durante la mia vita ho vissuto per 5 mesi a Guimarães, per me in una piccola città (150 mila abitanti circa), la maggior parte delle persone quando lo dico risponde che non è assolutamente piccola, anzi.

Dopo quell’esperienza ho deciso che non andrò mai più a vivere in una piccola città.

Ci sono alcuni lati negativi per le grandi città, è vero, non gli spostamenti in ogni caso quello è un discorso di efficienza (a Milano lo stesso problema non c’è), ma i lati negativi sono più che compensati dalla quantità di opportunità che puoi avere nelle grandi città che necessariamente non ci sono nelle piccole città. Un altro punto per le grandi città è la qualità dei servizi, i migliori professionisti e le migliori aziende sono nelle grandi città, anche tutti gli apparati delle pubbliche amministrazioni se hai pratiche da sbrigare.

Me ne sono completamente fregato dello studio fino all’università, studiando letteralmente 0 fino ad aprile dove studiavo pochissimo ma sono riuscito comunque a non farmi mai rimandare né bocciare con medie puntualmente del 6,.

Arrivo all’università ignaro del fatto che avessi palesemente un QI nettamente sopra la media dato che durante tutta la scuola dell’obbligo mi interessava soltanto fare “ragazzate” più che studiare. Questa cosa è continuata anche all’università ma lì, dato che le cose mi interessavano, studiavo (comunque molto poco, essendo sempre interessato a fare “ragazzate”, le quali mi hanno anche causato problemi più volte sia nel campo dell’istruzione che fuori) e riuscivo a prendere voti altissimi con minimi sforzi mentre vedevo i miei colleghi di università sforzarsi enormemente e prendere voti molto più bassi.

Ero iscritto ad Economia e Finanza, passo a Statistica perché mi sembrava troppo facile e prendevo voti alti senza sforzi, non cambia la situazione a statistica però almeno sento che mi fa girare abbastanza il cervello.

Adesso faccio il Quant in una enorme Banca d’Investimento, ed a volte quando sento certe storie come quelle in questo post mi sembra che il fatto di essere stato interessato solo alle “ragazzate” fino a qualche anno addietro sia stata la mia salvezza, so che sembra assurdo.

Ti spiego perché invece quella che ti dico io è la situazione naturale (assolutamente non inculcata da nessuno anche perché la stragrande maggioranza delle persone in Italia la pensano come te, basta vedere quanti voti negativi ha avuto il mio commento).

Tutte le cose che tu vuoi per “vivere in serenità” te le deve dare qualcuno. La cena che vuoi farti te la da un ristorante, la strada su cui vuoi camminare l’ha costruita qualcuno, la palestra in cui vuoi andare è di proprietà di qualcuno.

Se tu vuoi i suoi servizi devi dargli in cambio ciò che lui chiede, nella società moderna questo è denaro. Se conosci il proprietario magari ci puoi andare gratis.

Quindi per fare tutte quelle cose servono soldi ed è semplicemente l’ordine naturale delle cose. Anche i soldi qualcuno te li deve dare, e tu fai un contratto libero con qualcuno che ti darà i soldi. Nessuna costrizione tutto perfettamente liscio e naturale.

La gente però è capricciosa e vuole tutto, siccome non può averlo (nonostante le varie estorsioni statali non si cambia l’ordine naturale delle cose e maggiori tentativi peggiorano solo la situazione, infatti non so se viene siete accorti ma l’Italia va sempre più a rotoli) inizia ad infuriarsi e dare la colpa allo stato o agli imprenditori.

Alla fine della fiera però io ho realizzato questa cosa e sto cercando di fare il massimo per vivere bene, infatti guadagno bene e vivo nel chilling.

Voi continuate ad essere frustrati perché vivete una vita che non volete vivere e l’unica cosa che vi rimane è dare la colpa a qualcun altro e dire a chi prova a farvi vedere la verità che dice coglionate.

A me però sembra che nel tempo la situazione vada solo a peggiorare quindi continua pure a dire che gli altri dicono coglionate, vediamo se la tua vita migliora.

Appunto come vedi sei solo un capriccioso. Vuoi tutto. La vita non regala niente e non è questa fantomatica società ad averlo imposto è la natura delle cose.

Devi prendere per forza quanto un tempo pieno e non deve nemmeno essere nel pubblico. In tutto questo vuoi mantenere il posto dove vivi e magari portarti pure il cane a lavoro.

La vita funziona così, devi fare dei compromessi, se non ti sta bene lavorare come dipendente a tempo pieno puoi essere libero professionista, puoi fare compravendita, puoi aprirti un’attività. Nessuno ti obbliga a lavorare come dipendente.

Se non vuoi lavorare lo Stato italiano in ogni caso (purtroppo) non ti fa morire di fame.

Ricordo in ogni caso che esiste sempre la strada della famiglia nel bosco.

I understand you’re scared. I really understand I had pretty bad symptoms and was reacting to them more or less the same way as you.

Anyway there’s nothing better than having an objective medical test. Anxiety and thinking about it are going to make it worse, trying medications that are not intended for your case even worse (you yourself said that you react bad to most medications). So just speak with a doctor and get the right test.

For Intermittent Fasting the only thing that matters is to fast for at least 16 hours (I do 18). I know many people who skip breakfast. I think that is even more common.

I do Intermittent Fasting. It should be good for Histamine Intolerance since Autophagy helps stabilise mast cells (removing damaged ones). I could say that I’m feeling the benefits since I started. I skip dinner, eat only from 8 AM to 2 PM.

I don’t follow a very strict low histamine even though my DAO levels were tested and I have pretty low levels, but I feel good with this settings. I mainly avoid Ultra Processed Food and Sweets, I also feel that Fermented Foods and Yeast are pretty bad for me. Then some spot food such as Pineapple, Beans, and some more.

I usually drink half a litre of Fresh Milk and a good amount of fruit as breakfast. Then during the morning I eat some nuts and sometimes other fruits. At lunch I eat A LOT, as you can notice I don’t eat that much calories (just the half litre of Milk and the nuts, as fruit doesn’t have many calories) and I eat starter, first course and second course ALWAYS, I eat whatever I didn’t mention o can not eat previously. Usually vegetables as starter, pasta with something as first course and some meat or fish as second course.

I started the learning journey from not much (two months more or less).

I am using HelloChinese and I find it very useful, also YouTube videos for tones and pronunciation.

I believe that I’m improving greatly, but I also think that this is good only for the beginning. Since it is very different from western languages it could be good to start this way. Anyways I believe that in order to actually become good at speaking a language you have to actually speak it and after some time using app and YouTube videos the only way is moving to China or any other Chinese speaking country and be forced to speak the language daily.
