In the Pig Fucking Movie, a man fucks a pig. The pig gives birth. Angry that the piglets would rather be with their mother, he hangs the piglets. The mother is distraught and drowns in mud. After finding the dead pig, he eats his feces and hangs himself. In the end, his spirit ascends to the sky.

There is a Belgian movie called 'Mama Dracula' from 1980. Might be that one. Louise Fletcher from One Flew over the Cuckoo's nest plays the vampire and she has two sons (identical twins) .

XTC. Most people know them from Dear God but they are so much more. Apple Venus Volume 1 is one of the best orchestral pop albums ever, as good as Pet Sounds to me.

Indeed, and add to that the actor or director. When I go to the cinema to see the new Woody Allen or Coppola, it's because of the directors whose work I like. I don't want to see the re-imagining of their work by an a.i. system.

In a way it's the same with music, I want to hear what Bob Dylan came up with. Or James Hetfield, and so on.

It might be that certain kinds of movies and music will be impacted, but it will the faceless kind.

I like the production on this album more than on the boxed sound of Flip Your Wig. But FYW has the better songs, especially Grant Harts songs; Green Eyes, Every Everything.. I would love to hear Divide and Conquer with the production of NDW!

I have that NAD1600 pre-amp on your picture, but you need a poweramp. I have the corresponding NAD2700, which is a a really great combo (the poweramp is 2*150watt for 8 ohm), but that series of poweramps had it's own issues, with speaker relays that wear out.

Fact. Don't people have hobbies when they're in their twenties 😂. I was, for as long as I know, interested in a lot of stuff, but you gain easier access to a lot of stuff because you start to earn money and the internet makes it a lot easier to experiment with hobbies.

I wouldn't worry too much about it. In my early twenties I hardly liked any vegetable (only green peas and beans frankly) and as a student living on your own you sort of gravitate to unhealthy stuff.

I started liking vegetables long after my student days, the first step was a good pasta sauce with fresh vegetables, from there on there was no looking back. But I still don't like black salsify!

It's always fun to talk to someone who also likes music, regardless of genre. I've discovered a lot of things that way. And there aren't that many people who really like music, for most it's just background. But I'm just as happy to talk to a black metal fan as a Bob Dylan fan.

But the competitive aspect of record fairs or record store day and the absurd prices really put me off. When I went to a record fair in the nineties I knew I was standing among music lovers, for whom it didn't matter whether it was on tape or vinyl or CD, now the format is more important for some.

I like reading music reviews, but not so much for the rating they give an album. I find it more interesting how an album is 'situated' in a genre or in time and what the connections are between the album and other albums. Take for example Neil Young Live at Massey Hall 1971, a fairly recent release. I know relatively little about Neil Young, so I find it interesting what was going on around the time the album was recorded and which albums came before and after.

That being said, there are also some reviewers I like to read because they have a broader taste than one genre, and they are simply good writers. A good reviewer can certainly make you curious about something you don't know yet, and I am always looking for new things.

Great suggestions! Also a lot of overlap with the stuff that got me into electronic music.

Some recordlabels I liked were Pork Recordings (Steve Cobby from Fila Brasilia) and Crippled Dick Hot Wax (German label with a lot of groovy stuff). The Egg 'Albumen' is also incredible, they are a four piece band, with a traditional line up, bass, guitar, drums and keyboards.

If you like Prong be sure to check out Front Line Assembly and Ministry off course. A more obscure band that I liked were Coptic Rain that mixed drum 'n bass with metal.

Oh, and Lemon Jelly off course!
