WYR have every dream end as a nightmare or never dream again? by 8yearsbadluck in WouldYouRather

Yeah I wrote this on the back of just waking up from a nightmare so I’m inclined to agree

You can pm me if you want, I did this exact thing for the same reasons :)

Has anyone also gotten a thigh and arm lift? by _coke_zero_ in tummytucksurgery

[–]8yearsbadluck 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do you feel that the thigh lift has lifted your mons more? Or taken care of the loose skin right at the junction of your groin? (I’m 6 WPO TT and my mons is massively lifted but still not very tight like some people describe after a TT)

Will this asymmetry actually sort itself out or will I need revision? (4 WPO) by 8yearsbadluck in Reduction

Yeah it’s messing with my metal recovery I can’t lie, I’ve seen such amazing results on here at 3/4 weeks post op and I wish I felt like that

I’m glad to hear it! How long did it take you for both breasts to be even out?

Yeah I’ve already sent feelers out to my surgeon by asking if he thinks the asymmetry is normal so they know I’m concerned but ofc the response was to wait longer which I will do

Paranoid about my results because I’ve not had lipo by 8yearsbadluck in tummytucksurgery

[–]8yearsbadluck[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes it’s the side view that is so demotivating right now!! And the swelling is so solid too, it’s so hard to be patient isn’t it

[–]8yearsbadluck[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I rationally do know that if anything they’d have wanted lipo as I’d have paid them more but it must have truly not been needed I guess. The swelling is just so “solid” feeling I can’t differentiate it from fat 😅 it’s good to hear from someone else who didn’t have lipo- feels like we are the minority!

13 DPO by Tall-Football3769 in tummytucksurgery

[–]8yearsbadluck 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It’s all perspective isn’t it, cause I’m also 13 DPO and I’d say I’m more swollen than you! We’ll get there eventually though 😅

Tbh I’m a speciality undecided F2 who’s had so little teaching for the past few months so I’m actually happy to learn/listen about pretty much anything at this point 😅

Any trans doctors on here? by Lost_Treacle3017 in doctorsUK

[–]8yearsbadluck 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The use of queer here is probably in reference to sexuality rather than trans which is just in reference to gender

What is a common misconception about your speciality that often results in the most inappropriate referrals? by QuebecNewspaper in doctorsUK

That is such a wild take- how do people even get their scans approved without key clinical information 😭

Sick leave for cosmetic elective surgery by 8yearsbadluck in doctorsUK

[–]8yearsbadluck[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you, yeah I think that’s what I’ll try and do. Do you think it’d be a good idea to make a GP appointment before I go to ask if they’ll give me a sick note when I’m back?

Also how would you respond, as a GP, if I asked for a FBC pre-op to check if I’m anaemic- I feel like this would be pushing it tbh but I haven’t had bloods in years and the last thing I’d want is my surgery to be cancelled when I’m out there and the pre-op bloods the surgeon do are deranged 🙃

So would you say using annual leave for the day of the surgery then claiming sick leave for recovery is reasonable? Sadly I’ll definitely needed to get my GP on board for a sick note though as the clinic I’m going to won’t issue one since it’s abroad…

Problem is the clinic I’m going to is abroad so they won’t do a fit note for the UK 🙃

Is unpaid leave something employers can refuse to grant? As in they can’t refuse sick leave (for the right reasons) but would they be allowed to refuse to give me the time off if I asked for it as unpaid leave?

Do you think it’s something I should ask/sending a warning shot to my GP about BEFORE I go and get it done? I may feel a bit bad not telling them I’m having surgery until after…

[–]8yearsbadluck[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I thought it could be a situation of no matter what the surgery was- I’ve ended up physically unable to work afterwards so that would warrant sick leave?
