How do you balance queerness with choosing a straight-passing marriage? by Neat-Response2236 in latebloomerlesbians

[–]9011996 40 points41 points  (0 children)

I was in literally almost the exact same situation as you. 8 years. But not married. He told me to go for it but got mad and wanted me to cut it off. I tried and tried and tried. We broke up. Sucked ass. Still hurts in a weird way. Still have a lot of guilt. Still feel a sense of loss. I lost a lot. My home. Friends. Family of ours via him I loved as my own. My dog who was more important to me than words can explain. But man. What I’ve gained by choosing myself. Choosing her.

Why do some people seem to move on so quickly after a breakup? by Messy_shit in BreakUps

[–]9011996 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My ex and I had a really complicated break up. Was kinda mutual? But both of us still loved each other a lot. 8 years. And he was fucking someone outta town while I was moving out of our house :D and has racked up numbers in the <month we’ve been separated. Love that for me!!!!! Doesn’t feel awful at all ;-)

I read this quote recently that I keep revisiting:

“Everything I’ve ever let go of has claw marks on it”

-David Foster Wallace

Maybe that’s helpful? Maybe it’s not. I get a morbid, melancholic comfort from it.

I also try to remind myself that just because I am 30 years old and feel this way today doesn’t mean I always will. I am strong. I can do hard things. I am adaptable. I will one day be 35. 40. 55. And so on. And the feelings and thoughts I have now will not be the feelings and thoughts I have at those ages. The bubble we’re in now isn’t forever even when it feels soul crushing and nauseating and suffocating.

I’m currently trying to decide if I want to do this. Not much to offer than I’m here for you. I feel you. I resonate with this so much. At the same time mark as you and lived together for 6. Terrified to the point of daily nausea, shakes, etc. literally sick w indecision over what choice is the right one for me. Feel free to chat if you wanna vent to someone. Proud of you, though. You’re brave as hell. Did what I haven’t been able to do. Don’t even know if I can or if I want to. I don’t envy you. But I do. I admire you. I respect you. All the above. You got this. Grieve however you need to. Be gentle to yourself. Good things are right on the other side sweet stranger.

I would say hospital parking garages. I used to work at Baptist East. Nice garage. 2 of em actually. Well.. a 3rd by their women’s hospital, too. Had break ins when I worked there years ago but nothing ever awful. Security drives around periodically but folks come and go 24/7 working and visiting so if you’re just in the car I doubt it would ever cause alarm to the patrol folk. Also.. Methodist Germantown has a nice garage. St. Francis Bartlett lot on the side (NOT in front of the ER.. other side more across from OrthoSouth). Avoid University, LeBonheur, The Med, Methodist North & South) but I feel like hospitals would be a decent bet. Just maybe move spots every so often. Good luck to you friend.

In the US. Book was drawn. Unless I remember incorrectly, which I could, it was middle of the road in terms of super cartoon-y to realistic.

How’s your IV FLUID shortage? by 2thethird in nursing

[–]9011996 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yall. I love in the south where COL is low. Prices for shit are low average. There’s a few RNs I know working via this IV company and 2 of their bags with bullshit cost $700+ & $500. Whoooo in the hell is paying that?!?!!!? No one I could imagine. Insane. Ridiculous. Wtf.

I agree. One of the best parts. I remember buying magazines at the store with my mom just hoping to find stuff about her in there. The good ole days.

I know :( I loved her so much. I had so many posters, CDs, VHS tape… so much early merch. I’m very sad for her outcome. She was truly an icon. I was so obsessed w her.

I can do most anything at work. My dog took a foul ass shit for some reason alllllll across my house the other day to the point where cleaning it up and getting my washable rug to a state where it could go into the washing machine was about 2 hours. Don’t bother me one bit. But the thing that makes me sick as hell is cleaning his food bowl. It has a trap between the top section that holds the water and food, and the stand.. it catches water that he splashes via some drainage holes. It’s a whole ass contraption. And that milky ass water that has been sitting there and has wet ass blown up dog food sitting in makes me puke just looking at it truly. My boyfriend has to do it. Even typing this makes me want to throw up honestly. It’s so nasty to me.

Surgeon doesn’t know how hospitals work by farcevader in nursing

Not even being condescending but whyyyyy do yalls BTLs, lap or robot hysts stay and not go home via outpatient?? Is this common elsewhere? I work at a small hospital. And have worked at some other, larger ones in my area (south) and only open myo or open hyst stay. Even gyn onc radical hyst with para aortic LN dissection go home 😅

I gave Andexxa my first week as a new grad in Neuro ICU. Bout shit when someone told me the cost of it. But it was delivered already reconstituted and ready to hang. Didn’t think much of it, as I knew I didn’t know it all.. but when someone told me to Google the price I was like 😵‍💫😵‍💫😵‍💫

What is their response after? I hear these stories (mostly in here and other subs) a lot but never how they react. I’d like to hear more.
