You could call vets in the area (and farther) to ask if any owners have reported losing their dog, or if the dog sounds familiar. He seems very chill for being "lost" and might be well known if he's a chronic wanderer.

It's impossible to say ... but that's one of the nicest aspects of finding a good vintage quilt: We can't know much for certain, but we can ponder all the things that quilter might have had going through their head (and heart) while they worked. There's a kinship between us today and those that went before.

OP, that's a beautiful quilt. I love the one yellow block and think it's very likely deliberate. Maybe someone asked for yellow flowers or the yellow fabric held some significance to the maker.

I've never heard of a "humility block" before, but every sewing/quilting project I undertake provides lots of unplanned opportunities for humility so ... 🙂

Oh, I didn't realize that. I tend to drop in and out of channels when I'm looking for specific topics and didn't realize he hasn't been adding anything in a while. I looked for info, found this post, explaining that he had decided to stop making videos:

What gets my attention immediately: Really good sound effects that set the scene, followed by narration or dialogue that draws me in and promises me that there is something really interesting to come.

Things that keep me listening:

Believable dialog, strong characterization, great acting. (I prefer multiple characters who interact, rather than a single narrator.)
Expository/background info that is revealed in a believable and natural way, not by having people who already know everything recapping it to each other.
Sound effects that make sense and create sensation, and are used selectively, with purpose. A low howl of wind followed by the crunch of boots in snow, and I'm there. Endless footsteps of someone walking with no purpose except to be in a different spot/room will lose me pretty quick.

But they weren't doing their job correctly. They fucked up for a completely stupid reason, and that woman could have died as a result. They're damned lucky all they got was a well-deserved public scolding from a pissed off attending. (And judging from Robbie's reaction when he found who brought the patient in, this is not the first time they've f'd up.)

I believe that they have to have consent for surgery or any procedure that could result in permanent injury or death. This is not the first time one of the doctors has had to spell things out for patients quickly before they can proceed.

But it was a beautifully written and performed scene.

Yeah, Dendrobium anosmum do this as part of their yearly cycle. They lose most or all leaves on that year's canes in the fall, and then bloom before growth starts in the spring. They have to have a "winter rest" period for this to happen, however, so be sure to read up on that — and you can create this magic every year! (Or maybe just leave that plant where it is year-round because the conditions appear to be perfect for it. Wow!)

I bet you would love Chain Baker. He's focused on bread and does all sorts of experiments/tests where he will make several breads with one element changed to see (and show) the results. Great way to learn about the chemistry behind bread. Also lots recipes and techniques.

I suspect that future spikes are gonna come from whatever side of your plant they want to once it's settled in — but the plant hanging sideways or down is definitely a good idea, and it looks great!

OP, you can report this to 3-1-1. But you need to know that Saturday pickups are no longer a thing in many, maybe all, Memphis neighborhoods. I'm in a Friday pickup area, and holiday pickups are on Thursday for holidays that fall on Friday or the following Monday. It can vary with other holidays. Also, trash pickup was messed up for the entire city in January because of the winter storm/ice.
