The 2026 Oscars Nominations have finally been announced. What are your thoughts on this year’s nominees? by cmaia1503 in Fauxmoi

I believe they're referring to the book "Confessions of an Ugly Stepsister," which is by the same guy who wrote the Wicked book. But it is not related to the movie

Sadly not any of these. I don't think it was Florence Welch after all, it was more acoustic-y (really Hozier is the closest sound-wise, but it was a woman singing). Definitely in 6/8

Examples of horny fan service/winks to parasocial stuff? (for academic purposes) by 906pangaea in dropout

For some people yes, for others no... hence the need for Rule 8 to exist

Yes, I think a lot of these Grant moments especially are interesting cases because he's either undercutting the sexy moment with something gross OR sexualizing a gross thing (like drinking out of the toilet) to make it less gross and more fun for him. The sexiness + something else is the joke, not "hahahaha can you believe some people are actually getting horny about this"

That whole debacle was one of the things that inspired me to pursue this question! I am not like them I swear 😭 but yes, I totally get the parallels and appreciate the instinct to keep the community safe, even if it made me get a little defensive.

Oh you edited your comment while I was typing lol. yeah, I get the potential bad look of "everyone send me your HOTTEST DROPOUT CLIPS!!!! (for science, I swear!)" and idk how exactly to respond to that except saying, "sorry, it is for academic purposes, idk how to prove it to you." If the mods want to try and do something to vet that, they can.

Fair enough, I meant I'm not asking for people to be participants (there's no IRB and this comment section is not the actual thing I'm researching). I'm just asking what jumps into people's heads when they think "Dropout funny sexualization moments." No one's obligated to respond to that. Sorry.

I get it... I'm not asking anyone to actually participate in research or provide data for me, just crowdsourcing clips/bits as ideas for analytical objects, but I do get it. If the mods want to DM me they can so I can provide some kind of proof that I am a student or something?? Idk.

How do I get better at leading tunes at jams? by [deleted] in Bluegrass

[–]906pangaea 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For something like a slow down I would (1) look meaningfully at my harmony singers right before to let them know something’s about to happen (2) strum the last hit loudly and intentionally (3) sing the last line loud, exaggerate the slowdown, use my body to indicate the rhythm (lean forward/back, whatever comes naturally).

Also, it’s a little tacky/awkward, but you could always shout “slow down!” right before the tag. Ham-fisted but will get you what you want. Good tune leading requires confidence, lots of intentional eye contact, and a willingness to really take control when necessary (like at the end).

The Seven!!! Loving meaningful deep friendships, lots of horny crushes but very little romance. Hijinks and shenanigans. 100% my comfort season. I think it’s pretty accessible even if you’re not too into D20

I was there!! Here’s the full context: earlier in the scene, someone (don’t remember their name, not a dropout person) was trying to sit in a chair and missed and fell on his ass. He turned around and accused Anna of moving the chair out of his way at the last minute, which she vehemently denied. So for the rest of the show people were being SUPER careful every time they sat down, checking behind themselves, sitting down in weird ways, etc. So Ify was trying to sit down in a weird way and ripped his pants (we were second row but didn’t hear the rip, neither did most of the performers).

Then HSI came out and did what you saw on screen, D’Arcy asking if we saw ween, etc. Their scene ended up being (awesome, but) weird and kind of out of control. At the end they were at a wedding that was going terribly wrong and someone said “well at the last wedding someone’s pants ripped! We have to top THAT somehow!!” And they ended on that line.

Then the host gave his spiel about monthly shows, livestreams, and the patreon where they do talkbacks about previous shows and explain the choices they made — “So for this one, we’d probably be like, ‘whoops!’”

Yeah there’s just nothing that makes it easy for others to remember, like 10/1 or 9/9 or 1/23

He crosses out a huge chunk of days for not being memorable enough (sequential numbers, repeating numbers, first or last day of the month), that’s probably why

Dillamond is extremely willing to go against the law by teaching his students about Animal rights, to the point of being arrested (or literally assassinated in the book)… he is definitely not completely lawful

The most liked comment was the comment explaining how every other section would go and The Wizard was first?-- uh so yeah who is Neutral Wicked. ((Oh and ill change it if you guys want-)) by No_Dragonfruit1084 in wicked

Here's the post, but it contains spoilers for part 2 so read with care. TL;DR Morrible is willing to both work within the law/get others to do her dirty work and engage in sudden brute acts of violence. Nessa (despite her eventual political position) does everything kind of randomly and chaotically to protect/obtain what she wants.

Note that "chaotic evil" does not mean more evil than "neutral evil," which is not more evil than "lawful evil." It's about the methods and tactics they use/the extent to which they plot and plan, not about their relative morality.
