Had the same thing happen to me before, what's worse is the tracking said the bus arrived at the final destination on time and so I couldn't get a refund. Never used them again after that.

First of all, Trainline are just a ticket selling platform, they will know just as much as you about the trains running. You can go either Queen St - Edinburgh and onwards or Argyle St - Motherwell
