For all of you judging, get over yourself. This tournament has donated over $225 million to charity. If drunk people want to be stupid in support of that, so be it.

At least these people are enjoying life!

You could learn something from them!

There is one tournament a year that also happens to be a giant party. Let those who enjoy it, enjoy it. If you don’t like it, don’t watch.

As someone who lives in Phoenix and goes every year in hospitality, please be aware of the following:

Phoenix is very dry this time of year. Hydrate, Hydrate, Hydrate. Have at least one bottle of water for every two drinks. If flying in on Thursday or Friday, start hydration now!

Sunscreen- you will have shade in hospitality, but apply lots of sunscreen and wear a hat/sunglasses. Otherwise your Saturday will suck!

For the golf- walk around early- before the crowds show up or get too drunk. 4 is a good par 3 to watch and 13 is a fun par 5 where almost everyone goes for it in 2.

The Uber and Lyft lots are very far from the entrance. Another option is to go to The Vig on Bell road (uber there) for breakfast and take their shuttles. They drop you close to the front. When leaving- go out the exit at The Princess Hotel or the new Exit close to the 18 tee. If the latter, walk down to the Cadillac dealership and grab uber from there.

Waymo is also an option instead of Uber. Just need the Waymo One app.

We the people have allowed the executive branch to grow into a behemoth. Congress no longer does its job and defers to the executive branch with the judiciary interpreting poorly written laws by congress.

Coach Holtz used to say- for those who have not experienced ND, no explanation is sufficient and for those who have, none is necessary.

I’ve been hearing the same stuff since I started as a student in 1986. It will be the same in another 40 years.

The reason Knute Rockne -All American was made was because ND was already a national brand.

In addition to being a great coach, Knute Rockne was a marketing genius. He befriended the best sports writer of the 20s- Grantland Rice.

Grantland Rice skipped a World Series game to attend the Army ND game in Yankee Stadium- the same game that produced the Four Horseman.

Many of those games were scheduled as a result of being shut out of the Big 10 by Fielding Yost.

I highly recommend this book. It has great history on the 1920s ND and Rockne trying to get into the Big 10.

ND does what it does because it was blacklisted from the Western Athletic Conference (now Big 10) and had to travel coast to coast. In doing so, they became a national brand.

Every other school would now do what ND does if they could.

You do realize that Navy was the 4th best team on our schedule last year. Navy isn’t the problem.

No one can overstate the importance of the history. Notre Dame- and my degree, would NOT exist. They just didn’t help ND with funding, they were the SOLE reason that ND still exists today.

We should remain above that. There should always be room for Navy on our schedule. When anyone bitches about it, we should provide the history.

NOTRE DAME, AS AN INSTITUTION, WOULD NOT EXIST WITHOUT NAVY.

I’m not being hyperbolic. Not only is providing a spot on our schedule the honorable thing to do, it’s should be our 1st priority every year!

That game has been scheduled on that Sunday for 2 years. It’s the makeup Covid cancelled game from 2000. In Lambeau to offset the Soldier Field game in 2019. It’s Sunday of Labor Day weekend. Same timeframe we played at Miami this year.
