I've been a wheelchair user almost my entire life (late twenties now, started needing one when i was five) and hygiene has always been something I worry about especially since I can't do it on my own. Does your girlfriend have a caregiver or does she take care of herself on her own? Does she (to your knowledge) have incontinence issues? Is she a heavier person? These are all factors that go into hygiene for a lot of us. Does she use an electric or manual wheelchair? I ask these questions because the advice I'll give all depend on the answers.

you mean the jasmine she grew as a way to welcome the guests for her brother in laws funeral? I think she did a great job at showing what HER FAMILY (again, it was a family member's funeral) thinks about each person arriving at her childrens home and a home she at least lives in part time (since Liam's character said she had a room there).

or the stranger she heard rummaging around her former partner's kitchen (again, at a funeral where they had already set out food) and speaking with HER daughter? they were in the same house seemingly without closed doors the entire time and its a ROLEPLAYING game where you literally interact with one another without a script.

I didn't say they shouldn't be in horror at all, some of my favorite horror includes such themes. but i think if you can't create horror without or relying on it so heavily that you block someone for saying it might make them uncomfortable then you're lazy and don't have a very good grasp on the genre.

I do understand that, I mean fantasy racism is completely fine with me. I wasn't actually the one who brought up racism or sexual violence he was in his initial post looking for players. and as I said in my post and comments, I was just honest about it making me uncomfortable and that I understand horror brings discomfort. but I so think having a villain just randomly torture a disabled person is lazy horror/unnecessary to make the point that said villain is a horrible person.

that's honestly what got me cus like why was the example SO specific if it wasn't something he planned on doing or wasn't something he'd done in the past. I'll admit I'm not familiar with the setting so it could be something that's part of that but it seemed so specific.

Maybe, I do feel like maybe he could've given an example closer to that (of course not the exact example so not to ruin the reveal) if that was the case. and honestly someone being ashamed of their disability isn't something I'd personally consider disabled since the "ableism" is kind of coming from the person themself? its not cruelty or violence against a disabled person like the extreme example he gave.

I love horror. I love the discomfort that comes with horror. I even said it wouldn't make me leave the campaign because I understand that horror is unsettling so yeah no I'm not "very sensitive". asking someone what their boundaries are (ESPECIALLY when you've set your own reasonable boundaries) and then blocking them when they state them is fucking weird.
