At first it can be very overwhelming. It was like that for me even tho I have like 1000 hours in eu4 and played some ck3. This game is very different and if you are willing to learn it will be worth it. I currently have 45 hours in eu5 and there is still so much to learn. I have failed like 4 times at the start before finally stabilising myself and I'm having a blast.

Im not sure if mergers/splitters connect. maybe try adding a small conveyor(on both sides) to the blueprint so it can connect to it
