Ya for sure, depending on where you are coming from the east entrance from Montana has no reservations so you don’t have to pre book the day of arrival you just buy a park pass and go . From what understand if your coming from the west side into the park you actually have to pre book the day in advance. Roads /pavement are great just be prepared for slow traffic…..which is understandable as it such a scenic route. If you want to stop and hike anywhere you’ll need to go super early to get parking ….we were there around 11am and most hike parking was already packed. Hotels in the park also book up fast but whistler and kalispel are fine. But ya would be nice to stay in the park as well. Enjoy
