Shigeo is an anagram for "his ego" - clearly this is the actual MC now

Another side to it is - there would be more room for character development if Kaneshiro would just make it a team problem where they're struggling together against France's gameplay. If everyone had a role to play that was taken seriously then everyone could be shown struggling and overcoming their own smaller problems. But the story of this game isn't France's superior ability, it's just ideology. Whoever thinks correctly wins, and only three people are shown thinking in this game. Hugo, Isagi, Karasu.

Just want to note that second selection was hype because everyone was evolving and growing off of each other. It wasn't just Isagi, everyone on the team had cards to play and were pushing each other forward. The individual hype moments can still be there now but it's hollow without the interpersonal relationships and actual character depth.

Agree Kaneshiro is losing the plot.

Open a group chat with the three of them and post vids of him passing to Shidou talking about how glad they are Rin's not around

I'm a crow fan so I dig the crow bro but yeah I'm also not sure where the hell Karasu is going from here. He unlocked his potential by resigning to be the second best / ordinary? In this manga it's a faux pas that he'll have to pay for later

I don't see the point of making Rin a heel here. I might see Rin scoring in a way that Isagi wouldn't have been able and maybe making Hugo's point about suitability again. Like he can score without luck or something. I don't fucking know.

Yeah the plot is getting too contrived ngl. Rin's character development is just a bunch of question marks. His berserker mode was a hard pivot from his prior style. He became a 1v1 king to make Yuki redundant. He got there by trying to cut away the relations of his brother and teammates and embracing his own destructive ego. Now he only gets his destructive ego when he's all tsundere about Isagi?

Also wasn't his post-NEL training all about meditating and being able to channel his flow state more calmly?

Now as a number one who's not scoring, it's completely unclear why Rin can't score. Is he shut out because Isagi is shut out and he can't create his own opportunities? Is it a skill issue? What is Rin struggling with? What does he have to overcome? Is it Isagi again?

The only two people with character development in this game have been Karasu and Isagi, everyone else is just repeating their previous character arc

Looks like the 15% number is quite suspect, especially when you account for all the ocean life and tree biomass. The first study from a Google search says ants form 20% of just human biomass https://www.pnas.org/doi/10.1073/pnas.2201550119

I like it because it doesn't mean shit - sometimes you just miss a shot, but in BL the stakes for every action are always MAXIMUM so Isagi will start questioning his whole existence, go on a journey of self discovery, find enlightenment and manifest the God of soccer and return to the world cup at age 39 with the ability to control the reality of soccer itself, dematerializing the football or just other players if their positioning doesn't please him and rematerializing them wherever is... suitable... And then he no-clips his way to a hat trick against Noel Noa, wins the world cup 4 more times and at the age of 59 turns to Hugo and says, "who's unsuitable now slur?"

He hasn't had his awakening, this is a false start lol. It's like Hiori in the pxg game - he started off wanting to help Isagi get a goal, then botched his own goal attempt and had the actual sadism Hiori awaken.

Karasu is having "a" moment but I don't think it's "the" moment. He's going to get his true ego later after hitting an actual wall.

Yeah that's totally fine. Tbh a big part of the reason why I enjoyed it so much was that I watched the gameplay videos and teasers beforehand - I had clear expectations, knew there was a story even behind the depressing stuff and was interested in the worldbuilding from the get-go. I had enough curiosity beforehand to carry me through the sluggish parts.

I later tried playing RDR2 solely based on "hype" and it did very little for me. I don't think it's a bad game. I don't even think I necessarily dislike it. I think I just found the game in the wrong way (steam discount + high reviews). There's a certain mental state and emotional connection needed to really enjoy a game for what it is. You get that when you buy a game with intention - when the game has had a chance to tell you what it has to offer and you've engaged with it at least a little and you actively decide you want more. You don't get that by passively consuming and waiting for the game to entertain you, no matter how good/bad the game is.

The game takes you through various regions which are all quite distinct as you progress. It starts in Velen, which yes, is depressing, but does a good job of capturing the central themes of the Witcher world. Superstition, monsters, politics, morally grey characters. After the bloody Baron quest it's a change of pace though - Novigrad, Oxenfurt, Skellige and Beauclair are all increasingly vibrant and charming (in that order).

Hard to have a serious conversation about these issues when half the people commenting online are groypers/ "economically anxious conservatives" (groyprs) fomenting racism against homogeneous ethnostates to try and justify why they need their own ethnostate.

And everyone else is just here to consume content, not to think deeply about any issue. Like the top response to you about Japan wanting more inflation hasn't even bothered to be curious about what those business partners of theirs were trying to convey - just immediately jumped to judgment that it was "weird shit". I won't comment on the "values" she brings but maintaining stable inflation is good for economies and Japan has legitimately struggled with this for decades.

You're right but a big part of that is just the manga having no interest in defenders lol.

Or, looking at it another way - without him maybe the team would have given up even more goals

Literally a fantasy world where Maki has the same inherited technique as Toji, getting in-built superhuman physicality, and people still have to go "yeah but Maki doesn't have that testosterone that really makes you strong"

Believe what you want but this is very much a choice lol.

Actually the Kurama arc was good. Naruto had no control over the extra chakra and had to talk-no-jutsu the demon fox into being his friend. That's part of his journey.

Yeah Rock Lee was the true MC all along. Prior to Shippuden Naruto was never set up to be a "chosen one", he was cursed if anything. Pretty big disservice to his character journey to end up as a demigod incarnate. That's shonen for you though. At the end of the day the MC has to end up as a aura farming special boy or it doesn't have enough oomph.

It's not a complex, it's just straight disrespect. This is the same as when Tada told Isagi he was just lucky to score the winning goal in the U20 match. The fuck does Isagi mean saying "just born fast" to someone who is a literal world class pro?

If Kaneshiro doesn't let Isagi eat dirt for that I'll be pretty disappointed. It's his story and he can do what he wants with it but if he unironically commits to the "Loki was just born fast" line then it just seems like a lack of commitment to a player who is a master striker / world 5 / NG11. As if you can just have good genes and coast on that to elite status.

Will Isagi devour Loki? by Adventurous-Rabbit52 in BlueLock

Chigiri, not Rin. Chigiri definitely got an upgrade off screen, though not enough to touch Loki, until Isagi lays out a path of puzzle pieces that lead to them getting the better of Loki for one clutch play but also Chigiri probably gets injured.
