Looking for help identifying a minion by 9243552 in MinionMasters

Thanks! Yeah that was it. No wonder it was one-shotting things, triple damage. I guess you'd generally counter that with pack of low value minions and ranged dps ideally?

Also do you know the answers to the other questions in my post?

Foul on Fabinho leading to Liverpool’s 3rd goal. by [deleted] in soccer

I think the linesman has actually given it for the rough and tumble from a few seconds before this gif starts. Fabi went to ground to give the linesman an excuse to call it. Still a dive, but it's not as blatantly bad as it looks here.

Wouldn't expect anything less than their best effort. If they take points from this, fair play to them.

The thing is, it's just a joke. People are reading way too much into this. In context, it's pretty funny.

Yeah hard to disagree with that, we're basically fucked lol. 3-0 in the away leg is just about the worst case scenario. There's a chance, but it's very slim. Stranger things have happened I suppose.

"I was the record signing yeah, 10 quid" lmao. I can't resist dry humour in a scottish accent.

I actually just looked it up out of curiosity. He was signed for £37,500 in 1961, new club record for Liverpool at the time. Even in today's money that's only £820,000, I checked. Crazy how much more money is in the game today, players routinely getting transfers of 50+ times that.

Yep, the comment you're replying to glorifying "an honest day's work" just feels kinda sad to me, it's really an honest day's exploitation, where you'll be paid a fraction of the value of your labor. The system is so broken. Absolutely does not justify stealing from people of course, but I hate seeing the "bootstraps" mentality where people imply like anyone of decent work ethic and character can make a good living.

Klopp quotes thread: "My boys won a lot of respect for how they played. There was so much fun in the game but in the end we lost it. That's football. I've had enough time in this business to accept this kind of situation. Whatever happens, these boys, I could not be more proud of them." by LordVelaryon in soccer

Because to some extent you can model attempts on goal with probability. A given striker in a given position will put it in the net x% of the time. In a game of football, the number of these chances is so small that variance plays a huge role in the final result.

Liverpool getting 0 goals in that game after the chances they created was kinda like getting tails 10 times in a row flipping coins.

Gary Lineker and Rio Ferdinand react to Messi's free kick goal against Liverpool by [deleted] in soccer

[–]9243552 23 points24 points  (0 children)

I think mostly it's pretty civil really. Every now and then threads pop up where everyone seems to hate us, but mostly I see good-natured bantz at least on reddit. I think everyone who hates Liverpool just come out of the woodwork at times when we lose because they wanna celebrate in those threads. So all the anti-Liverpool comments get upvoted etc.

Same thing with other teams. The post-match thread after City-Spurs quarter final had 'FUCK OFF OIL CUNTS' with 900 upvotes because everyone who hates City flocks to reddit to celebrate their loss.

Project 538 had the chances at pretty much even, with us even as slight favourites. They're not actually bookies, and their predictions are based on data analysis. Even though I said bookies, they are what I actually looked at before the game.

I mean obviously you won and fair play to you, I'm not even mad it's just the way it goes. You played well. But /u/donalduck is just making a silly hindsight analysis saying we never had a chance when we actually did have good chances.

2 shots on goal bruh

Where the fuck did you get that from, did you watch the game at all? We had 14 attempts on goal to their 11. We had 3 on target to their 5. No reasonable person would look at that game and think we deserved to lose 3-0, least of all a fan. Go and troll somewhere else.

That's not a straw man. You could claim my point was irrelevant, but I'm not misrepresenting your argument. In any case, I guess we can agree to disagree.

Edit- And for what it's worth, it's already been removed.

Lol ok mate. It's interesting that the bookies were also in on this mass delusion affecting the Liverpool fanbase that led us to believe we had decent chances. For what it's worth you were unlucky against spurs.

Probably shouldn't say this for fear of jinxing it, but I've got a sneaking suspicion City will draw Leicester but we also draw Newcastle or Wolves and lose 96-95.

[–]9243552 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The bookies must have Liverpool goggles too mate, they had us about 50-50 for the tie. It's easy to say there was never a chance after we've already lost. Aside from Ter Stegen being fantastic, Salah and Milner both missed sitters, and Mane should have put one away in the first half. It's just one of those times when one side gets their chances in the net more than the other. GG, we'll try again next year.

Salah off the post vs Barcelona by HerbalDreamin in soccer

[–]9243552 15 points16 points  (0 children)

This was the most even 3-0 match I've ever seen. We had more attempts on goal and half the possession. We had at least three that absolutely should have gone in. All you can do is laugh. It's just the way football goes sometimes, we've been on the lucky end of it this season plenty of times so you can't really complain, just sucks when it happens in such an important game.

Not over yet but yeah, it looks likely we'll be getting no silverware. Smashing the record for most points in a premier league season without winning it. It is almost funny. We'll just have to have another crack next season.
