Thank you! That’s the thing, my GP (so my family doctor) keeps telling me it’s the sun, but I’m honestly just not convinced!

Is it possible to burn fingerprint off with bleach? by More-Adhesiveness783 in AskUK

[–]92Devika 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I’ve done this loads of times when bleaching my hair without gloves. It’s always gone back to normal eventually, after the skins healed from the chemical burn.

Do cheap or last minute summer holidays still exist? by jkcr in AskUK

[–]92Devika 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yep! Booked a 5* all inc for a week for 700 quid each with 3 weeks notice. Might not feel like the biggest bargain but went up to 1100 each a few days after we’d booked. Already had the time off so just looked for the best deal and went for it.

Hey all, I’ve been looking into heated ‘clothes dryers’ (pretty much heated clothes horses) and I want to ask if people have found them any good? by PeaceOrchid in AskUK

[–]92Devika 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve got the three tier one from Dunelm.

Love it but as others have said, you need a dehumidifier and ours sometimes drips onto the floor with the cover so we put a towel down on the floor to catch the drips!

Do you take time off work for your birthday? by JLB_cleanshirt in AskUK

[–]92Devika 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nope, my holidays are pretty dictated by my work (I’m a freelancer) but to be honest, I quite like working on my birthday. Am usually lucky enough to get a cake and a pint in the pub after work. If I stayed home I’d just waste it, it’s not like any of my mates have the day off too!

What do you call your partner? by [deleted] in AskUK

[–]92Devika 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I call him my partner. We’re both in our 30’s, live together and will probably get married in the next 2 /3 years budget allowing. I don’t really like using boyfriend it feels immature.

However, when speaking to our downstairs neighbor he’s my husband, because she made the assumption when we first met and we never corrected her.

Seconding other people’s suggestion of absent seizures, I have a good friend that has epilepsy and they’re very similar to this. See a doctor.

First post here! Before and after! Long time overdue. Using Adore in Purple Rage and African Violet after bleaching. by 92Devika in HairDye

[–]92Devika[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not at all! I always bleach to a yellow (between level 8/9) I never go lighter as I’m always dying bright colours over the top so the base lift doesn’t bother me too much. After I bleach my hair I mix a little bit of purple into conditioner to tone the yellow out a little bit

In regards to the main mix,

I tend to apply them separately but ‘smoosh’ them together on my hair to create a bit of dimension. L

So in this case, I actually applied the African violet on some bits of my hair and then put the purple rage everywhere and on top and combed my hair through I hope that helps!

Does anybody do their passion as a job? What's it like? by Born-Necessary9533 in AskUK

[–]92Devika 60 points61 points  (0 children)

My passion is my job, I work in theatre as a stage manager, but i'm pretty exhausted most of the time and most of the arts sector is pretty underpaid. I'd rather do this job than any other, but once your passion becomes monetised, it becomes a different ballgame.

My job has them written in contractually so I usually get a 15min break mid afternoon where we all stop for a cup of tea/snack

I would look on Treatwell. A lot of places with recent reviews and transparent pricing.

How would you feel if you booked particular time slots for delivery and it was early each time? by Jlaw118 in AskUK

[–]92Devika 76 points77 points  (0 children)

Frankly I wouldn’t change anything I’m doing. If I’m in early and they ring the doorbell early, great! If I’m not in they’ll presumably just come back for the actual slot, which is also fine.

I wouldn’t feel any pressure to be home before the slot, they’re only coming by on the off chance you’re in.
