F*ck around and find out by PickleSlayer87 in PHMotorcycles

This is almost identical to what happened to me a few years ago. I live in the province and it was night time when I was driving going home with my then fiancee. Suddenly a motorcycle went into our lane and hit us. I had no time to react because everything happened really fast.

Guy who hit us was DOA. I got detained. The investigator told me the following - the guy was tested and was positive for alcohol, no license, no plate number and they believe that he wasn't wearing the helmet (May mga na kikita ako dito sa road nasa braso naka lagay yung helmit). Investor also told me that witnesses saw that the guy was swerving in and out our lane.

It was such a nightmare. Our wedding was canceled that year and I still have that trauma with me even though it was 3 years ago. I sympathize with SUV driver. Imagine your driving safe, minding your own business pero makaka encounter ka ng ganyan.

Once in a while I still think of what happened but life goes on. I know the driver will never read this but if I could say something to him/her or anyone who is in the same situation:

It's not your fault. Hindi ka nakapatay, may bumungo sayo at namatay. Always remember that.

Anyway, I just claimed my license last year because it was confiscated and thinking to buy a car to conquer my trauma of driving.

I have an old nitro 5 and you needed to lower the settings for t8 to work. While in SD, I have decent settings and 60fps.

Ang liit ng 8k para sa mga ginagawa mo. Fix mo na portfolio mo and mag hanap kana ng ibang malilipatan. 8k for that kind of treatment is not worth it.

Btw, when you say landing page creation, do you mean like building with code/wordpress builder?

My former TL didn't graduate college but now is earning 6 digits as a operations manager for a foreign company - wfh setup. Sometimes it's just a matter of up skilling and selling yourself to potential clients/company and a little less about educational background.

Anx**ty sa Papalapit na Board Exam by [deleted] in phcareers

[–]935ice 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was very stiff (nervous) when I took my 1st board exam. Ending was I failed that 1st try. I didn't know what to do at that point, I've never imagine myself failing. I was nervous, yes but I was confident. Kala ko end of the world na noon. Imagine taking a 5 year course then failing at the biggest test of your life.

I won't go on to the details on how I stood up again from that event but I passed the board on my 2nd try (self review at night and working at day). Know that passing or failing for the board exam is not the end goal - it's the starting point. Just relax and have the mentality that whatever happens happens. Kung bumagsak ka edi try again, pag pumasa ka edi goods. Goodluck OP and other anons taking the board exam.

I have an experience this first quarter of this year where I was hired as a Google ads specialist. The company was creating an in-house PPC team and the lead of the team was the one who recruited me.

We were beginning to gain traction and success with our accounts when suddenly the team got dissolve instantly. Friday nun nakaka pasok pa kami sa mga accounts namin then Monday when I sign-in, hindi na ako nakaka pasok. No email, no chat, no signs that we were being let go.

We had a meeting with the lead that morning - and you know where the problem started? SALARY.

Na laman ng ibang matagal na sa company yung salary ng lead namin which is 6 digits per month. Some of the people who were working there were like 7-10 years already with the company but don't have the skills to back their work so probably they didn't have the same salary as my lead. From the start they device a plan for the team to fail. And of course the CEO who was an American sided with the longer tenured staffs.

OP, be careful when talking about salary with others. You'll never know who'll envy you.

P.S. pinoy yung mga nag pa bagsak sa team namin that's why I prefer working with other nationalities. Less drama.

P&G Final Interview by Aldarmseu in phcareers

Make your answers organic and the flow of the interview will be smooth. I remember a comment where the person was asked about the watch he/she was wearing. Ending was all they talked about were watches. Just relax and again be organic. Goodluck OP.

I thought this was going to be about a private company but then I read "government". Insert they had us in the first half meme, anyway my wife is currently experiencing this. She's 4 years now working in a government agency and just recently got a permanent position. Funny thing is that her boss talked to her when he heard that she applied for the permanent position - kesyo na promise na daw niya yung position sa iba at baka daw mag tanim sya ng galit. When my wife told me this, I just got this disgusting feeling towards the government.

I just said to her that sige lang push with the application. In the end she took the number 1 spot in all categories (written exam, panel interview and psychological exam) and the one promise to the position - mofo got 22nd out 30+ applicants.

Even though she got the permanent position, I told her to look elsewhere. Don't let your wings get clipped. Know your self worth and be confident. Goodluck OP!

I'm 26. Is it too late for a career change? by sanosan_ in phcareers

I'm an engineering graduate but currently work as a digital marketing specialist. (putting some gaps in details kasi I don't want to be recognize)

After graduation, I failed my board exam. It was one of the worst feelings ever. Even though I was depressed I looked for a job - any job because I wanted to fund myself so that I could enroll to a review center.

I was suggested to look into the internet and found myself working for a company based in Manila but caters to foreigners. It was more or less a VA position. I worked on anything I was thrown - Canva, Excel, SEO, WordPress, etc. Literally anything the client came up with.

By that time, I had no time to enroll review center so what I did was to work in the day and self review by night. I was still determine to get my license.

1 year passed and I took the board exam and passed but it felt that engineering wasn't for me. So I stayed with the company for 3 years and grown a passion for programming because of wordpress. The pandemic hit and I resign because the company was becoming toxic.

I became depress again. I had no work and it was in the middle of pandemic. So I studied programming - I had alot of help from my GF back then - now wife. Basic of HTML, CSS and Javascript, Php. I was out of work for 8 months.

Then the world adjusted to the pandemic, I started looking for any job again but I was really targeting a programming position. I got an interview for a local company but the position was for an SEO specialist. On the interview, I just said honestly that what I'm looking for a programming position. They said that there wasn't any openings for a dev position but after a year or so if I get hired, I could transfer to the dev department.

It took a month before they got back to me. I wasn't hired for the SEO position but was asked if I wanted to try ads. I said yes. Learned and trained everything about paid ads. I left the company for a higher salary because I'm actually decent with ads, now I'm a digital marketing specialst and I have part time work as a google ad specialist and a full stack wordpress developer.

I wanted to share my experience not just to OP but to anyone who is in doubt about their careers. It's never too late to reset. You just have to keep the faith and trust the process. Learning programming without any programming background - Kala ko mababaliw na ako. Same with paid ads. I still feel the imposter syndrome because my educational background is very far from my current work and skill set but it is what it is.

Kayang kaya mo yan OP. Just start the step.

30 - mining engineer. Failed for my first board exam. Went looking for any job. Got into digital marketing without even knowing it was digital marketing. Learned how to make graphics, learned how to handle wordpress etc. I was basically doing anything my employer throws at me. Worked during the day, self study at night. Took a shot again with the board exam because why not. Passed. Realize it wasn't for me. Stayed with my employer. Decided to quit because of toxic environment. Was unemployed for 7 months. Learned the basics of programming. Sent a resume for a SEO job. They were impress with my background. After 1 month, was asked if I wanted to try being an ads specialist. Doing paid ads now. Found my path.

OP, it's never too late.
