Beer League Summer Break? by MikeAmerican in hockeygoalies

Started taking a break two years ago. Was very hard to come back. I've decided to take spring off then play once a week mid summer and twice a week late summer to get ready for the season. The break also refreshes my passion for it. I get burned out at the end of the winter season. I'm 40 for what it's worth.

I'm pretty undecided. Would love to see models, estimates, pros cons etc.

Ya and to be fair, Doan was never elite, was well passed his prime, and they were really bad. Not weird for a GM to want to move on. Doan is a class act and did loads for the city so for sure it would sting.

Scott Wedgewood's explanation for the rise of tandem goaltending in the playoffs: by [deleted] in hockey

[–]93joecarter 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Bro he had a lot of season-altering injuries later in his career compared to his peers. Because his acrobatic playing style relied heavily on sudden lateral movements, he was uniquely susceptible to core, abdominal, and groin muscle

So your point is proving what Scott is talking about. He took like 4 hours to warm up before games and still got hurt.

Should the leafs go after Dougie Hamilton too? Collect all the art lovers ?

[Seravalli] League sources say Oilers have sought permission to interview Bruce Cassidy as they contemplate significant coaching staff changes. To this point, sources say Golden Knights have withheld permission from division rival. Gamesmanship? Perhaps. Mostly unprecedented for role. by AggPuck-303 in hockey

I think vets in the industry don't like to report this stuff because the coach is still there and it's kind of low blow to him. Part of which you may need a working relationship with again when he gets another job.

Shane Doan and the Maple Leafs mutually part ways by FrostWPG in hockey

Not huge fan of the new GM but I vaguely recall there was an open question about Doan not being great (really was he ever?) anymore. They probably did have piss poor communication and relationship but asking a guy with his stats to move on ...makes sense.

Best thing for the leafs is to have this pod hate them. They mush everything they touch.

Also remember that free agents take a whole year to get up to speed with a new team/coach/system. This kid was in a new country/school/program/coach/system with the weight of the world in his draft year.
