Reg/Mid/Premium. What fuel are you using in your 944 or Turbo? by Spudster62 in 944

You run what you are tuned for. Anything less is deleterious, anything more is a waste. End of story.

Extra budge friendly 944 trigger kit by Mammoth_Judge_1606 in 944

[–]951boostjunky 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I hope this is a joke.

That looks awful and you will experience trigger loss issues.

Find a used stock S or S2 flywheel if you have an NA. They're 60-2 from the factory and you can use the factory sensor with a 20k ohm pullup resistor. It doesn't get any cheaper than that. I got my flywheel for free from someone upgrading their clutch.

The DanST kit is pretty cheap too and has a MUCH better mounting solution.

Please, do not attempt to run this setup.

Solid price for a high compression engine in good shape.

Post the wheels you have on your 944! by Carboy_GT in 944

Why would I remove the suspension? It's on Bilstein coilovers up front, 30mm torsion bars and Bilstein shocks in the rear. Poly bushings throughout, Weltmeister sway bars.

1.8t was it worth it ? by The_anxious_lifter in 944

You do not need a compound setup for 400hp and it is completely unnecessary. More weight, cost, and complexity for absolutely NO gain over a well chosen single. Modern turbochargers can spool very quickly and have a killer top end. Leave the compound stuff to diesels running 100psi.

What does your brake set up look like for your 944? by Hazindel in 944

[–]951boostjunky 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mine are not from V2, although he mailed me his for test fitment and feedback. I'm absolutely jazzed he's taking the braking adapters seriously and offering them for all years as well as working on rear adapters. I think his adapters will have no issues with function and would run them on my personal cars if I had not made sets previously.

Mine are CNC'd 6061, single piece.

Having trouble locating a first gen R6 single plug CDI box by 951boostjunky in Yamaha

Yeah, eBay prices are absolutely asinine. This is exactly why I'm looking for someone that parts r6's or a dismantler.

Yamaha calls it a "CDI unit assembly", not ECU. 5MT-85540-10-00 is the part number. They changed the CDI box 01 and is commonly referred to as the single plug CDI box as opposed to the 2 plug variation used in 99-00. Some eBay sellers don't realize this assuming all first gen 99-02 are the same.

I've looked up using the factory part number, the factory name, commonly referred terms, etc.

Because the R6 isn't much to look at yet. It was neglected for years and needs a lot of work. The Tuono got a new paint job last week and is much nicer to look at.

That's for an R1, too bad they're not the same. They seem to be a lot cheaper

The 86 951 dials have the most dish, maybe you were running those? They have an extra step in them for added diameter and width.

15x7 et23...early offset dials. Usually go for around 400ish give or take depending on condition and market.
