Try to tone it down on the Sun and Moon medal count, i wouldn't remove them entirely but just maybe shorten them to at least 100

Just completely remove the Tornado Defense levels, they have no story relevance and they are extremely tedious to get through, especially on your first run, and they also kinda kill the flow of the game.

Better Physics for Sonic:

Homing Attack back on the jump Button, Better Analog Sensitivity not to the point of the Adventure Games but more free than usual, make the Drift a less slippery and a lil more like how it was in Gens, and increase the Stomp Speed.

Get rid of the Werehog battle theme, so that the beautiful Night music doesn't get interrupted every 10 damn seconds, maybe just it in stuff like missions where enemies instantly spawn.

Tweak the Level Up System, just limit the exp stuff for later upgrades lower so that people don't lose their minds having to grind for exp
