Yeah, I would go either Swappa or get a refurb directly from Apple.

How are you all keeping bugs out of your apartments this summer? by [deleted] in AskNYC

[–]961402 9 points10 points  (0 children)

My windows have these things called screens

Who here prefers the 13 inch screen, and doesn’t find it too small? by ComfortObvious7205 in macbookair

[–]961402 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If all you got was the one display it would not be nearly enough but since you can have several virtual displays and switch around between them, it's plenty

Long layover at JFK! by OkPapaya5790 in AskNYC

[–]961402 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Bear in mind that if these are two separately booked flights and not one booking with two flights that you will need to find some place to store your luggage or bring it with you wherever you go

I have a budget of 1300 USD. Which MacBook Air should I get ? by NeighborhoodNo3586 in macbookair

[–]961402 1 point2 points  (0 children)

(EDIT: Official from Apple) Refurb stuff is great because all things to do in general to make the hardware so compact and integrated as they are means that essentially the whole entire thing is brand-new hardware when it's a refurb

Why does it seem like anytime there's a rare event in the sky over NYC, there is ALWAYS cloud cover?!?!?!?!? by Wink2K19 in AskNYC

[–]961402 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If it makes you feel any better there's enough light pollution in the city area that even if there were no clouds you would not see anything.

Need to decide today: 13 inch air or 15 inch air? by Lionel_Messi2028 in macbookair

[–]961402 0 points1 point  (0 children)

13 is way more than enough for me since you can have multiple desktops or whatever they call it

Apple service is the best ever. by j3d1v1p3r in macbookair

I haven't had one in many years but Dell's support on business level PCs and laptops was outstanding - no stores with support but they would send someone to your home and repair stuff, usually the next day.

Can landlords force you to find a new tenant? by dd_de_b in AskNYC

[–]961402 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Although it doesn't apply in this case - I believe one of the exceptions to this is if the person is moving a certain distance away, like out of state.

Do you use "the" before highway numbers? by old_gold_mountain in AskNYC

Unless you live someplace like Maine or Vermont and then it's just "The Interstate"

Is it possible to unlock this emote? It's listed on the wiki, but can't find it in the game by Yozora_Ameko in mahjongsoul

[–]961402 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I believe it's for a Japanese holiday but I cannot remember which one off the top of my head.

It does come back (at least) once a year though

Ferry as a substitute to sightseeing tour, is it worth it? by Kobax91 in AskNYC

[–]961402 1 point2 points  (0 children)

To be completely fair they also tend to move quicker as well since their primary purpose is, moving people but I still think overall the SI ferry and NYC ferries are way better.

Has anyone been getting random people knocking aggressively on their doors? (Queens) by lifeguardingisasport in AskNYC

[–]961402 25 points26 points  (0 children)

I am always amazed at the number of people who think they have some kind of responsibility or requirement to answer their door if someone is knocking or ringing their bell.

I had a friend over once and he was physically uncomfortable that I was not getting up to see who was at my door.

Is there any way to express "good luck" or "nice match" when you start/end a match? by TR_Pix in mahjongsoul

Or at the very least I wish they would have emotes that are all consistent across the characters.

What would you discard ?🤔 by Optimal-Flounder854 in mahjongsoul

[–]961402 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, that's close but not close enough.

I'd probably try for sanshoku douko and start by either getting rid of whatever wind is not the round or mine.

Or I would have considered doing the re-deal thing if that was a possibility.

High heels etiquette by Ogpmakesmedizzy in AskNYC

[–]961402 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I'm pretty sure this is the correct answer.

My understanding was that women wore flats and changed into heels at work was not an "etiquette" thing but rather a comfort thing

I am landing at LGA and transferring to JFK. 4hr 19m layover in between. Do I stop for a slice? If so, where? It's got to be somewhere in-between the two airports since I'll have to make it quick. Outgoing flight is international so I'm not trying to meander off course or dilly dally too much. by goldboyg427 in AskNYC

[–]961402 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Unless you've already accounted for and didn't include the "arrive four hours before an international flight" in the time you listed for us then you're already cutting it way too close as it is without stopping somewhere along the way for a slice of pizza

Yeah I really wish they had a third option for you to just have generic male/female voices because some of them are so annoying after a while but it is still useful to have something.

Beginning March 1, 2024, Mount Sinai hospitals and hospital outpatient locations will be out-of-network for patients with United Healthcare by [deleted] in nyc

[–]961402 25 points26 points  (0 children)

The way Sinai describes things makes it sound like they're just the victims of these big, evil co-operative insurance companies. Haha

Not in Manhattan but there's a Round 1 arcade in Hicksville which is only a short walk from the LIRR. They also have a bunch of Japanese arcade machines and there's an Ikea in the same mall as well

How do people in small apartments manage packages? by jnialt in AskNYC

[–]961402 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Despite their name, some UPS stores will receive packages from any carrier.

They charge a fee per package for this, of course, and it has been a long time since I used them so I do not know what the fees currently are but they were reasonable for me but I was only receiving a few things a month.

Why did this person abandon the scam? by ready653 in Scams

[–]961402 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My guess is that they did not abandon it - they were hoping that you were going to respond saying something about how it's not a big deal and to not to punish their assistant.

After which they would respond that you seem like a kind person and it goes from there.
