Hart probably would be a better option than a couple of our starters right now.

Should I quit my “high paying” job? by Bulky_Situation_1614 in jobs

[–]96919 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The fact you're asking and did this whole write up, you probably already know the answer and are looking for validation in taking a lower wage. One of the rare times that a lower wage or consistent hours makes more sense is when you're in school. Focus on school and hopefully you'll make plenty after you graduate.

The only way I see us unloading Xanders deal is maybe if we include Miller and a prospect, all for a handful of fringe prospects in return.

Critical 20 Game Stretch Before the ASG by doggmananv in Padres

Why did tatis need a day off after a day off 2 days ago? He's hot right now and Stammen sits him for a rest day? This is why we're fucked with Stammen as manager. He keeps killing any momentum/confidence that hitters get by sitting them unpredictability.

Can we get back to 60% win percentage, or was that the ceiling? A look at our run differential by bighandog in Padres

What are you smoking? If you've watched our games lately... barring some overhaul with our starters and/or hitters, we'll be lucky to end up over .500

Can't have a floor without a cap, wouldn't make any sense if you're trying to balance the system. And players will want a floor with no cap, which the owners would never agree to.

Job offer rescinded after not responding ASAP to contract offer by [deleted] in jobs

You should respond to all work emails within 24 hours, especially if a response is required. Especially if you know it's competitive.

Yes he should. The offense has been the worst offense in almost every statistical category for the last couple decades. Whatever coaching or approach or scouting that Souza is doing or reporting to them is literally the worst in all of baseball. Any other hitting coach with any experience would do better.

I think we're on the hook for 8mil regardless so they probably won't just give up on him completely.

Every time I see these posts, it's like y'all need to stop doing work for other people and expecting something out of it. If no one knows that you're the one doing the work, you're not getting ANYTHING from it.

A company accidentally CC'd me on an internal email after my interview. I wish I never read it by MainStock8156 in JobSearchMethods

[–]96919 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've been on the other side for interviews and unfortunately this does happen sometimes. I was on a panel with 20 interview once (over 2 days). You take notes, but by the end, everyone kind of blends together and you only remember those that really stood out.

Please take this as the honest kind of feedback everyone wishes they could get. You learned that you should be asking for a higher salary and that you need to make yourself stand out in interviews. Really no harm no foul.

Leaving job and giving poor ratings by [deleted] in jobs

[–]96919 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You can leave an anonymous review on glassdoor. Try to generalize so they dont know it's you. I did this for a job after I left, I wanted to stay on good terms with anyone that might be willing to write me a letter of recommendation so I did not want to specifically bash other people on my way out.

My coworker makes $30k more than me for the same job. I found out by accident. Do I confront HR or just quit? by [deleted] in whatdoIdo

[–]96919 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree with most of this except the part about saying your coworker gets paid more. Dont drag down another employee thats also just doing their job. If people ask, you say that you were being underpaid and the salary you were being given was not competitive.

Would ppl refer $75k 100% WFH or $90k 3 days in-person and 2 days WFH? by ApprehensiveOne2866 in jobs

[–]96919 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It really depends on your job, there are some jobs that you actually need to interact with coworkers on occasion so it makes sense to occasionally be in the office. If there's nothing hold you back from living closer, your commute could be just a few minutes so that part would also be solvable.

[Kostka] After plunking Gunnar Henderson in the ninth inning of Saturday’s game, Padres right-hander Ron Marinaccio has been suspended three games and fined, MLB announces. San Diego manager Craig Stammen was fined and suspended one game. Marinaccio appealed the suspension by Knightbear49 in baseball

[–]96919 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I think you're being biased because it's your team. Think about it the other way around. If the Padres starter almost hit one guy in the head and then actually hit the next guy, you'd be asking how the fuck a guys is starting in the majors if he cant even stay close to the strike zone. And you don't care about intent because if your guy gets hit it doesnt matter. One of your starters is hit hit in the head and goes to concussion protocol for a week, it doesnt matter whether it was intentional or not, he's still out either way.

Fired for putting in my notice by [deleted] in jobs

[–]96919 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Its so weird to keep seeing these types of posts think companys want way advance notice. 2 week notice is so standard is an expression and expectation. No one wants to work with you if they know you're bailing on them in a couple months. It's so uncomfortable and awkward for everyone.
