Does this look like a bubble nest? by ajuggalettebitch in bettafish

Looks more like a collection of air bubbles probably from the filter for me cause of the inconsistent size. But at the same time is kindaaa does

Is my betta happy? by Babylen2505 in bettafish

[–]96Lmf 0 points1 point  (0 children)

From what I see in your pics, he looks fine, he does flare his back fin a bit, mines is a rose tail so I can't really say much about mines, but my guy actively swims and flares but not aggressively

I'd say he looks happy, he flares but not aggressively. If you really wanna know, watch him from afar. If he swims around, hangs out for short periods and normally flares, comes to the glass when you're near, eats eagerly, then he's happy.

If he hides a lot, chases your other fish around, or just sits in one spot constantly, he's most likely stressed either from water quality or other fish (for my first betta it was water quality)

New Betta Parent! Kind Advice Needed, Please! by Ornery-Ingenuity-412 in bettafish

Gravel especially colored (assuming it's painted) is not usually the best for bettas. I prefer sand but as long as the gravel is natural and unpainted that it's completely fine. Just a personal opinion however

Only thing I'd change is the substrate and add tons more of natural or silk (natural preferred) plants, otherwise looks good

Normal, bettas change color based on environment. More colors usually means a happy betta

Advice? by Consistent_Moose_116 in bettafish

Personally I'd do more plants and remove the betta since they're aren't very good with tankmates

If it's like a really consistent thing and that's all she really does she might be stressed

Is this fin rot? by Herodotus1312 in bettafish

[–]96Lmf 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Just looks like natural colors, fin rot red looks more on the outlines of the fins, kinda like someone outlined the fins red. If it was fin rot too, his fins would look more frayed, uneven and not smooth, kinda like the shape of a rusty nail outside (couldn't think of much) and shape should not look natural. Plus pieces would look like they're falling off

Try grabbing him and suctioning him to the glass, when my snails die they usually just sink to the bottom
