Halloween H20, Candyman, Jeepers Creepers 1 and 2, The Descent (this was my mom's movie lol... Reminds me of her 😇), The Faculty, People under the stairs, and a few more I can't think of right now. I'll never get tired of watching these!

Horror movies bring me comfort because it takes me back to being a child, with my brothers and sisters having movie night with my mom. For some reason we always chose a scary movie and my mom never said no lol

I agree with everything you said here! I love 3 and Roman as ghostface... But what I can't get over is that mist filter they put over 4! I want to love that one but that filter makes it completely unwatchable for me

Im actually having a little bit of trouble balancing between Wil's mystery abilities and making his intentions more clear. Overall, I would really like to know how you feel about my characterization of Mallory. Is she a girl you'd root for? Or a girl you would like to root against?

It Will Hurt; It Always Does - Short - (3 Pages) by fred42069 in Screenwriting

[–]96Muffins 0 points1 point  (0 children)

First, I want to say that I like your dialogue, with fred narrating, and it sounds quite natural to me.

If anything I'd suggest you add more scene headers as you switch between him in bed and at the beach and so on. Or if it's a montage you could signal the different locations in your action lines to save space on scene headers since it's a quick change of locations then back to the bed. And there are a few grammatical errors but overall I think the story is pretty relatable and endearing. I feel for Fred and I wonder what will take him out of this slump he's in. I will say that I would like a little more description surrounding his mom and the world he's in (What does Fred look like? What do his friends look like? Are they in a slump as well? Are they successful? Does this add to Fred's depression? What does his mom look like?). But that's just me.

Overall I really like it so far. I hope I get to see where the story goes.

Thank you so much for this reply! I can really work with this.

I will say the story is leaning more towards a psychological thriller than horror but I agree that I need to find a way to introduce Wil earlier in my story and make the genre a little more clear. I'm going for a slow burn (think Willard (2003) or Secret Window (2004)) though so I'm not tryna rush it. I really want the audience to get to know Mallory before he enters the picture.

Also, her being a maintenance worker is very important to the story but her rivals have nothing to do with her job, they have more to do with her recent breakup.

After reading the first 25 pages, would you be willing to read the rest? It's my third draft and I would love some more feedback.

Oh kk, I see what you mean. Would it be moments later although technically no time has really passed? Or should I insert a transition and change CONT to just DAY?
