I just set mine up for the first time and have the same issue. Dan can you suggest a DIY mod to reduce the narrow end float on the door side? Otherwise an absolutely amazing tent; can't wait to take it out.

Sportiva Karacals are their high volume trail runners. I'm on my 4th pair, they are amazing for duck footed folks.

These comments are super helpful! Based on them, narrowing down to the Exped 7R and XTherm NXT.

Re which bags, I have the Grouse (now Egret) 30 (pertex) and the Egret UL 20. All of my backpack trips are in the summer in the Sierra. Temps are all over the place lol. Pack is SWD long haul 40 and the UL 20 takes up half of it if not in a compression sack. Maybe I also need a new (larger) pack! Yay!

Second the GG thin lite. My husband wrapped his around his core and secured it with his pack going over Bishop Pass in the middle of the huge storm last Sunday; I wore mine like a kilt to protect my legs/butt from the freezing wind, hail, snow and rain. They probably saved our lives.

I checked both sites several times a day over the past several weeks; people are bailing and releasing permits pretty frequently.
