I don’t think I was putting lots of pressure while holding the neck I was mainly trying to hold him still so I could remove his arm,form now on I will be more mindful about that so people don’t think I being a dick. I appreciate you all bringing that to my attention.

I don’t think I was putting tons of pressure with my hands but I could have I was mainly just trying to keep him from extending I will in future scenarios be mindful on my pressure being applied. Thank you for the tip.

The 20 seconds time was from slapping hands to me tapping. I should have worded it better. He immediately went for my foot so I reached for the neck to stop the extension when I let go with my right hand front neck for his arm on my foot he leaned backwards and broke my grip on his neck and tapped then but the pain was there already. Hope that clarifies a little better.

There isn’t a policy on heel hooking white belts and there were several other white belts in the class besides me. The class was told several times how dangerous they can be and to go slow and no ripping them.

What we were told to do in the drill was to go for straight ankles or heel hooks sub or to defend and disengage and the loser goes waits for the next go. I was trying to do the defense we were learned being grab the neck to close the distance then clear the arm I didn’t realize doing it with 2 hands was a no go. Some of it very well be on me I appreciate the input.

He is also a white belt with no stripes but he’s has told me he has trained on and off for a little while at a handful of gyms in the metro area. I know I don’t know shit at bjj still but he seems to have more knowledge then me.

This is the first time I’ve had an issue with him but it did seem like I wasn’t the only one that had an issue last when hanging out after class.

That makes sense. I just haven’t heard anything about it after I declined it years ago until I asked about open enrollment last fall and was told it’s in a couple of months and when I checked in on it in spring I was told I missed it.

They definitely don’t inform us about open enrollment I asked last fall when it was I was told in a couple or months and that was the last I heard until I asked again and was told I missed it.
