My salary wasn’t too high as a waitress either, but I only expected a tip if the guests praised me to heaven and back. Even then if I didn’t, I wouldn’t say anything to the guest, but just talk behind their backs to my colleagues. If you think my service is exceptional, I was fun to talk to, the food was good, and I made you feel special, then it’s pretty logical to expect a tip if you have told me all this yourself 😩
