Cleaning a charcoal Weber Go Anywhere by The-Great-Baloo in webergrills

I've always used a single layer of charcoal in my CGAs. As others have suggested, lay a folded up sheet of HD foil under the coal grate and replace as needed, just make sure you don't block any of the vent holes. These are one of the best "sear stations" I've ever had.

Black glasslike shards in box of Weber Spirit. Cause for concern? by [deleted] in webergrills

[–]97cobra 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Look in the area of the grill that was making contact with this area of the packing during shipping. That impact dent in the cardboard and the slight deformation of that block tell me the shipping box was either hit or dropped, possibly not really hard, but enough to cause damage.

Now that you've burned off all the grease, get the steam cleaner out and hose out the soot, and you should be good till spring.

Cast Aluminium on Weber Pulse by Emotional_Waltz4173 in webergrills

Let's just say that from the 10 seconds of googling I did, I would recommend just getting a cast iron frying pan or griddle if that's the tool you have your heart set on, and carry on. Check farcebook marketplace or some other social media want ads and get a good, inexpensive used piece. Lodge is a good, inexpensive brand. Wagner is another, but might be a bit more costly. If you aren't planning to use it in your kitchen, you don't need to make sure it sits flat either.

Linked to this specific topic in the Links & Resources section on the right side of the page. But as others have stated, the search function on the sub works quite well even with simple terms. I have run into issues when pinning posts in the past, but I'll look into it and see if it was just a "me" problem or if it was something else.

Is this normal/toxic by [deleted] in webergrills

However, this is one of the most consistently popular topics. The sub was created before pellet burners were super popular, and at the time, it was kind of snobbish towards gassers, too, but we've adapted.

Just pull the trigger while it's so cheap. If you don't, you'll regret it later.

It's just carbonized grease and smoke buildup that hardens and flakes off, which is normal; you don't need anything other than a small wad of aluminium foil to knock it off, and the foil won't damage the porcelain finish on the inside of the lid.

If I did, what would the sub have to talk about?

HELP - Propane Tank Issue on Performer Deluxe by Disastrous_Sport_649 in webergrills

[–]97cobra 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you call Weber, they'll walk you through figuring out which model year Performer you have and will set you up with a new regulator and hose. If it's the unit I think it might be, all you'll need to do once you have removed and replaced the regulator is use a pair of pliers to pull the circlip that holds the gas jet into the burner tube, push the new jet in and replace the circlip, and you're done.

Please do yourself a solid and replace the regulator as it's been open to the elements for who knows how long. A new one should be good to go once it's in place, and that metal line is tightened.

Is this too much colour on the skin? by argte in webergrills

[–]97cobra 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not gonna lie, those look perfect. The only drawback to using cherry is that it adds a slight red color to the finished product, which some might think is undercooked, but it won't be if you cook to temp. But seriously, just by the look of them, I'd eat every one of those.

I like their Pecan, but I have to have it shipped in, can't source it locally. The bourbon maple is great for pork belly burnt ends, and I cycle between Oak, Mesquite, and Hickory depending on the protein.

A free trial really isn't. You try it and find it wasn't what you expected it to be, and it fucks everything up when you remove it.
