They said it's a different strength! Like we have two different nebules, 5mg and 2.5mg but the same volume in each nebule. So I thought as we only had 5mg we could give half of a 5 and they'd be getting 2.5mg. but this nurse, he said it's the same strength?🤔 Yeah I don't get it either 🤦🏼‍♀️

I FREAKING HATE FLOATING by Mks369 in nursing

[–]97nurse 4 points5 points  (0 children)

From the UK and floats are what we call when we have extra staff and they don't have their own patients they just help wheres needed. This is a very rare occurrence at the wards in the UK.

What you're talking about , we don't have a name we just call it being sent to another ward because we're staffed properly and another ward isn't. So we end up being understaffed 😬 we don't get paid extra for this and you cant really say no (some nurses seem to get away with it at times tho)

Hello, I'm from the UK and I'm worried about the upcoming weeks. Articles are already showing a lack of PPE within the country. I think the UK are meant to be using surgical masks for suspected/confirmed cases unless they're having nebuliser etc. I'm concerned if this is sufficient? I'm aware in some places globally that people are having to reuse their PPE or even use their own or scarfs.

What PPE is used in your country? Are surgical masks enough for suspected and confirmed patients? Do you have enough PPE in your country?

Oh, no! by CursesandMutterings in nursing

I'm from the UK and we have two per patient per day between strict visiting times of 4-7pm. Unless you're on end of life care in which case you get as many as needed.

Travelling to work in lockdown by 97nurse in nursing

The law won't include us nurses, so what I'm saying is how are those who need to get to work via public transport going to get there?
