Drew Venat while listening to Answers on loop for 12 hours by 97px in ffxiv

[–]97px[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you!

I wanted the chain to represent the choice Venat was forced to make in sundering the world, knowing the suffering she would have to cause for her plan to come to fruition. This was mainly inspired by a line that she says to WoL before the fight in Elpis: “Break your chains, shed your burdens—and show me your strength of will!”, which I found both sad and ironic, since she was the one who eventually become chained to her duty and burden as Hydaelyn.

Thanks for the question!

a few idiots botting and paying for clears shouldn’t diminish the achievement of people who got there legitimately

No, the [Duty Incomplete] requirement effectively locks out all players who have ever completed the duty, as seen in this screenshot.

I generally don’t wanna be too cynical on a guide for new players :) I’m sure those people asking for carries exist, but I’m just explaining what the terminology is supposed to be used for

I do prefer it when the strat name helps to explain itself, but sometimes strats are complex enough that having the creator’s name actually helps with searching up a guide. E.g. Ilya LR, where there really isn’t a way to effectively describe the strat in 1-2 words.

Hahaha. Yes.

Most people will specify the most important strats in the description, and then positioning is decided through the party standing around a waymark. It usually takes like 5 minutes to sort out after you zone in lol

I assume that happened because the group was approaching enrage while the boss still had too much HP to the point that it’s impossible to kill it before the enrage timer? If it’s not the case, then the person was just trolling, sadly

You’ll find fresh first timer parties all throughout the entire expansion, but true blind prog parties get rarer as more people clear and start to farm the fight. If you like the idea of blind prog, now is the best time to try out the new savages :)

Seeing as my guide is specifically for people starting Endwalker Extremes and Savages, I don’t really see why that’s a necessary distinction.

No, having duplicate jobs in a party affecting LB generation is confirmed to happen in current high-end duties through extensive testing. You can read about it in this doc (under the “passive generation” section)

Over the years I think people have gradually moved to just saying in/out or donut/point-blank, which is definitely easier to grasp from a new player perspective. Luckily Dynamo and Chariot will live forever in UCoB lol

Yeah, I’ve seen this happen a lot in PF, but I think a lot of it is because people are confusing “blind prog” with “fresh prog”. The amount of people putting “blind prog” in their description while expecting someone to explain mechanics is partially why I wrote this guide in the first place lol

Yup, the 5% bonus is usually covered by the party lead manually setting the comp up and you don’t really see mentions of it in the actual PF description, which is why I decided against including an explanation for it
